Fine produce, but do be aware that it may have more bulk and weight than you thought, and that the knob at the top is rather large to fit your hand comfortably. It really does look a bit heavier than a regular stick or cane and therefore is more easily perceived as a weapon. Also, it needs a rubber tip on the end that does not come wit it. I had to shorten mine a couple of inches with a hacksaw. That tip is a 7/87" one, by the way.

Short of dropping this into a volcano I do believe it is indestructible. I got this as a gift for my son who has a history of breaking just about everything he touches and so far he has dropped it about a thousand times. The shape is very intriguing and pleasant to handle...just what you would want from a walking stick. I would suggest putting a rubber tip on the end if you want to keep it from sliding when you lean on it. It weighs more than a wood stick so take that into account...especially if you are prone to DROPPING THINGS all the time. The stick might be indestructible...but what it lands on might not. All in all a great value and an interesting addition to any collection of traditional stick and stave weapons in your collection.

I would have given this a perfect 5 for 5, but if you have any intention of using this as an actual cane/support device, you're going to have to mount a tip, as this slides all over the place under any actual weight-bearing activity. And, since it's a rather stout appliance, your standard cane replacement tip won't fit, so you'll have to improvise. Personally, I cut the sleeve off a replacement tip, & screwed it onto the base.

Very good stick for practice and use. It has a comfort weight, size and fits well in hand. Material and finishing quality very high. This stick exactly satisfies all my needs.

These sticks are virtually indestructible . Cut them to length. Put a rubber crutch tip on the end otherwise they are slippery.

We walk two Labrador Retriever's in an area that has many Coyote's. Since they travel in packs we see them all the time on our walks. The Coyote's are not afraid of Human's and in many instances will attack a Dog that is on a long lead. In a near by semi-retirement community they have been suffering the loss's of their dogs and several Senior's have been injured from falling to try and protect their pets. Those Senior's just don't get it and continue to use long leads which is like dangling a lolly pop in front of a child. That said and to make a long story short; I don't like to use deadly force with regards to animals unless the situation warrants that use (loss of life). So while I was trying to find a big strong walking stick I ran into Cold Steel's African Walking Stick that cannot be broken. I feel very confident that I can protect my wife and Dog's from attack from Coyote's. The one thing I failed to purchase was the rubber tips that fit on the Walking Stick which is a must when walking.Read full review

The Cold Steel African walking stick (knobkerrie) is light, but shouldn't be seen as insubstantial by any means. It is very durable whether used as a cane or for self-defence. The geodesic ball head fits perfectly comfortably in the hand, and the length - for me, at least - is perfect. I highly recommend it.

Just right for me, I would give it 5 stars if I didn't have to buy tips for the end. Would recommend this item. I am 5'10", fits perfect. The top ball is rather large, think about this if you have small hands.

This product is an amazing value for the price, it looks elegant and has a good heft to it, and combines well with casual and formal clothing. It is perfectly functional as a walking stick or support cane if needed, I suffer from bouts of severe tendonitis in my feet and this thing does the job, it does need a rubber cane tip to provide traction and to protect the end of it, and the length seems to be ideal for a person of about 6'2" in height, as it is at just the right height for me. The shining feature of this African Walking Stick is the fact that it is effectively a very discreet war club or battle mace that can be carried anywhere without notice, it has become without a doubt my favorite cane. I plan to get a few more.
