  • Great Gift for Knife Collectors

I can't compare it to a regular Buck 119 being that this my first one, but I love this knife. It's about half the price of a Kabar Fighting/Utility knife but just as good of a value. The knife comes shaving sharp. Being stainless steel I'm not sure how difficult it will be to sharpen yet. The sheath is a high quality leather, but it's made in Mexico. The only downside to the knife it that it has a slippery handle designed for someone with bigger hands. The grip is also a bit square and bulky, but not uncomfortable. The 75th anniversary logo on the sheath and in the handle are very nice touches. It's a beautiful knife that would be a great gift for a knife collector. I plan on using it while camping and fishing. Hopefully the slick grip won't be an issue if it gets wet.

  • Elegant blades for outdoor adventures

I have a few of these now and I think they're very elegant. Some complain about the guards, but they provide protection and despite the length and size of the Buck 118, they are very light, and they have a nice polish. You use them, then rinse or wipe them clean and they're ready to go again. For food prep the steel and the phenolic resin handles make them easy to clean and make them safe enough for preparing food. It's not a knife meant to be beaten on, but to use and last. They're elegant tools designed to cut and slice.

  • Great hunting knife!

Buck is well known for making high quality knives. This is no exception! This knife is a superbly crafted hunting knife. It comes razor (shaving) sharp right out of the box. The handle is ergonomic, and allows for a good purchase on the knife. The knife is well balanced for precision work. The black leather sheath provides nice retention even when the retaining strap is unbuttoned. If you are looking for a high quality fixed blade hunting knife, this one is hard to beat for the cost!

  • Great knife!!!

This is a great knife for its use....And value for its cost. If one uses this knife within the scope of its designed purposes (cutting, slicing, carving and light batoning for kindling) and uses proper maintenance it should last at least a lifetime. I have even seen some effective mods (YouTube) done to both the handle and blade of this knife.

  • Buck is Best

I really like my Buck 119. It's a great night for classic buck and has a very comfortable handle. I love this book for the classic look and the great thick leather sheath.

  • buck 119 a superior hunting knife

the Buck 119 fixed blade knife is a superior all around hunting and camp knife good for shinning and preparing your game to cutting the shavings and wood to starting the fire to cook the meat for supper. The blade is solid and with care should last a lifetime of use. I own several a couple to use and several to admire. Buck makes a superior knife and the Buck 119 is at the top of the list.

  • Great Knife! Great Value!

It is what you would expect from a Buck knife made in the USA. It is very sharp, sturdy and comes with a robust leather sheath. It will give me many years of solid use. I have a friend who has one just like this that he has used for years and is still in great shape, minus a few cosmetic scratches from all of its use... still as sharp as my new knife too. There may be better knives out there for a lot more money (I have seen some for over as $900), but this is a great value that will provide you years of use in the woods! I would highly recommend it.

  • Great Quality Knife

I bought this knife to complement my old Buck Knife. The blade is slightly longer than one I had already owned. It is perfect for cleaning wild game, especially wild hogs. It easily penetrates the skin and makes cleaning so much easier. Would definitely recommend. It easily sharpens after use and I like the case it comes in.

  • Great knife

When I bought it it showed up the next day. It was razor sharp. The handle was a bit squarish but it felt comfortable for me. It is a great knife

  • GREAT Knife; well worth every penny!

Beautiful 75th Anniversary Buck 119! Extremely sharp out of the box! Most Excellent Value for money spent! (Maybe that's why I have just bought my 5th one; they will be Heirlooms for my Grandchildren!) I could not be happier!
