  • The Zebra is truly the real work horse.

If you're doing any sort of serious mail order, retail, or warehouse business, this is a real must. There are no shortage of competitors, virtually all of them under the hood are clones of the Zebra printer. You'd literally use the same print driver when you install them. With the GX420D version being phased out by large business in favor for the newer ZD version revolving around EOL enterprise level service support contracts. Everyone else, the GX420D is a perfectly good printer with all the right technologies. Primary the various network printing interfaces you can choose from, and you should always use this printer as a network printer, and only use USB for programming purposes only. You can choose bluetooth or wifi version, personally I view the Ethernet version is the best overall option for try and trued networking that is less likely to run into issues. If you intend to use this printer primary as a USB printer this is not the printer you want. Go get yourself a LP-2844 for a fraction of the price. Where this printer shines is the networking capability. A couple of things you should do when you get a used one of these printers you're going to have unwanted customizations on it that you want to clean up. Make sure you've installed all the manuals, and programming tools (Win only) from Zebra, including the latest version of the firmware. Do a factory reset, and flash the firmware over writing anything that might be included. Configure your printer using the software to your liking and give it a static IP address. From there on, all the future administrations can be done via it's built in web interface, and set up your workstations to talk to the printer via IP network printing. Only catch is finding a good vendor who does put in the efforts to clean up and QC them before putting them on the market. If you're shopping around for a used direct thermal printer. Get the GX420D, you won't regret it.

  • Absolutely love it!

Setting it up to print via PayPal was a little difficult for myself being not the greatest with computers. But the printer itself has a couple small scratches on it. I mean, it is used an refurbished as described. But the dang thing prints FLAWLESSLY. Extremely happy with my purchase.

  • A Big Time Saver

It has saved me a lot of time, I used to use a laser printer and labels for shipping. The labels were always too large and had to be cut down. Now i just select the printer and hit print. I get the right size label with no fuss.

  • Great Direct Thermal Printer, Easy to Setup on Linux, Windows, or Apple

This barcode printer is perfect for shipping labels or any kind of direct thermal printing you can fit on 4x6 stock. It is easy to get up and running on linux, one of the few that are - and the network or usb option is great. Combined with a lack for a need to ever buy cartridges and you couldn't ask for a better solution for shipping and tagging at the home or small business.

  • Tricky to set up with UPS but works great

This will save our business a lot of printer ink and it works very well so far. A little tricky to set up but UPS tech support got it configured and all is well.

  • Worth it 100%

I love it !! Def a good investment for my small business. I run an Etsy shop and it synced with it perfectly. Just had to change the shipping label setting to 4x6 on my shop settings and my computer recognized it immediately. I love this product and the rolls of labels should last me years. Also a word of advice apparently you get free labels from fedex or ups if you’re a member :) saves a lot of money
