Classic, highly collectible toy line, but the figures have their fair share of pros & cons.
Kenner's Silverhawks line were/are arguably some of the most beautiful action figures ever made. The metalized paint is stunning to look at, but excessive handling will cause the paint wear off over time leaving the figures looking like cheap, off-the-rack, plastic auto parts from NAPA. Finding loose examples without scratches or other paint loss is tough to do - even their wings can suffer from this. The paint on their faces was also applied directly over the metalized finish, and the figure's noses were prone to having the paint rubbed off. Each figure in the Silverhawks line had the same gimmick - spring-loaded arms that would put them in "flight" mode...but that's it. No articulation (aside from the basics), and no masks, either. Each character came with their own unique "bird" accessory, detachable wings, and not much else. Play value is pretty limited, and the line suffered from a lack of vehicles & playsets, but the figures do look very nice on display.
