This was a birthday present for my 88 year old uncle who wanted an AM/FM type radio clock. He found it difficult to set up. (He's usually very adept at that sort of thing.) When turned off a "hissing" noise came from the item which worried him. According to the instructions, you're supposed to switch the radio clock off when you leave the room! The one hour back-up battery won't last long if you need to do this.

The instructions to set the time and use the radio are so small as to be unreadable. The clock radio sits in its box until I can find a person with better eyesight to set it. The time setting itself is easy to read just not setting it up. If you are elderly don’t buy it.

I almost rated it poorly and was going to request a refund. I coudn't get the radio tuned properly and the stations were full of static. I eventually worked it out and the product is fine. The user directions need to be clearer and more easily understood. Larger print would also be good.
