    War is shown te be cruel and counterproductive

    this film gives a picture of the situation in Germany, just before the end of world war II. Interesting to see the characters, especially the boys who were the focus of the events, develop in a way that ultimately leads to their deaths. Excellent example of the cruelty and counterproductivity of war, as a means of solving problems.
