These shocks were replacements for the original units with just under 55K miles on the clock. Even draining and refilling the old units didn’t improve damping performance. These progressive shocks are a huge improvement even without adjustable damping. I am very pleased with the handling and ride quality improvement on my 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad. I typically ride old county roads in central Texas that are anything but smooth at a fairly spirited pace and these shocks are working great.
