These are great entry-level open-back headphones! I've been wanting to get them for years after hearing DankPods's recommendation. They're pleasant to listen to music with and there's a noticeable difference in soundstage compared to mid-range closed-back headphones. Bang for your buck cans.
Somehow saw these when I was shopping for high end headphones for mixing and bought them because "what the hell, they're only 35 bucks" plus they were getting good reviews. Yeah they're amazing for the price. I also bought some BeyerDynamic DT770's for something like $150, and they were of course better than the Samson, but not so much as to warrant that kind of price difference. The Samsons sound respectable next to the BeyerDynamics, and yet they are $115 cheaper! I love having both, but if you can only afford the Samsons they're totally fine. Excellent sound quality, crazy low price
Incredible sound for such a low price. I bought one of the other audio engineer suggested studio monitor headphones from AKG, which were over twice the cost, and returned them because they did not sound very good. I then bought these and was blown away at how good they sound. For ~$30 and free return it was easily worth the risk.. I have no intention to return them. Excellent for mixing
If your just looking to listen to music then these are not for you. The semi open back allows for a perfect reference sound when mixing. I used to use a pair of sony closed backs and I have to say that these are much better for mixing my audio.
