RX7 Hood release
After my car came back from the shop the hood was making a hard pop when, it was opened. I found that they had pulled/over extended the stock cable. As this cable is anywhere from 25 years old, I felt it was time to change this to prevent further issues. This brings me to price, I did see 2 cables for a few bucks cheaper but never heard of the manufactures and had no OEM part # reference. Where as this one had the part number and pic. I picked it up for apx 38 dollars and waited the couple days for it to arrive. When I opened the box, this was packaged in proper plastic and seemed to be slightly oiled!! This is great these cabled need to be kept oiled a little and moister free. The part was referenced on the package along with the OEM part. Comparing it to my OEM cable it looked the same but the part where you POP the trunk under the dash (release button) had a little ticket metal, which I liked. Installing it is same as the factory and the built on grommet stops the cable from over pulling or leaking in the interior of the car. Many after market cables didn't have this piece and it's 100% needed. I routed it and clipped it and 4 days latter popping the hood a lot for guest over the 4th weekend who wanted to see the car, would never know it's not the stock one. It even livened up my dash as the older piece had faded. This was 100% plug and play, remove old cable and install this one in same location. I am so happy, I don't need to crawl under the car to open the hood, and I feel safe this isn't going to snag and pull the hood with out warning. Great buy, well made, nice sheeting, cable was oiled and packaged well. If you have a 1993-1995 USD RX7 and you need a cable this is the one for you!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
