Plastic vs wood kits
In my opinion, building a laser-cut wood kit produces the best results. A toothpick and some tacky glue is all it takes to get the majority of the job done. Trust me, tacky wood glue is far easier to use than plastic cement. I've built a number of Blairline kits and they never fail to please. Many of the smaller parts in the kit feature 'peel 'n stick' backing which makes assembly much easier. One must remember, however, that this is 'N' scale ---- genuinely tiny stuff. That being said, the results will make you smile AND look damned good on the pike. Start with a simple house to build confidence. Then, 'move on up' to a variety of challenging kits. Above all, enjoy the hobby!
