Great build quality and fitment... but the wire colors are backwards
I previously tried other aftermarket sockets but were awkward to fit as they all have a 90 degree orientation on them. On top of that, the notches on them don't quite align with the slots on the housing. So when I got these and tried them on, all those problems were instantly solved. There is one caveat: the wires are the WRONG colors; on top of that, there's no instructions provided to inform the installer of the color scheme. When I first tried wiring the pigtail wires to the harness, it wouldn't switch between brake and tail lights and initially assumed that the socket might've been defective. So I hooked up the other unit that came with this kit in the same color scheme only to find the same thing occur. I'm not sure if this particular pair was accidentally made this way but I could definitely see where many other customers would have given up at this point. Turns out, the WHITE wire is actually GROUND and the BLACK WIRE IS FOR TAIL LIGHT! So to anyone wanting to splice these into a factory harness, especially for brake/tail light combos like I did, do some trial and error first before crimping/soldering together in order to figure out which wires need to be paired together!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
