Hey everyone who really cares about the high quality and top grade sound. My setup before the purchase consisted of some Fiio players (X3-X5), then I moved to Centrance Hifi M8 (which is truly awesome) and newly purchased Centrance Dacport HD. I had a number of in ear and headphones changing them frequently (ATH IM02,03, Ultrasone 750 Pro, Philips X1), still I was looking for a relatively cheap orthodynamics to have certain upgrade in speed and clarity, although sacrificing a bit in bass quantity (not quality) and overall sound "thickness" which I still prefer. After getting HE-400 in my hands and wearing them for the first time I noticed not the best ergonomics, which has been dramatically improved by ZMF Pilot pad (for the headband) and HM5 pads (pads included made my ears touching the headphones). As for the sound, it took some time to move from usual dynamics to orthos. A bit bright, even harsh on tremble (20-30 hours burn in helped + stock cable change to pure copper), mids recessed but not too much, less body on bass but great speed and extension, and goes really-really deep. Sub bass rambles your teeth which I've never experienced with Ultrasones or Philips. Now, when wearing old headphones they all seem muffled and slow. Highly recommended as you can get it for less then 200$. Still, a bit different from Audeze or Fostex T50rp house sound, with a great and deep bass and prominent highs, speed and resolution.
