As advertised; works with our Cuisinart

This bowl works with our ancient original Cuisinart, The original bowl lasted nearly 40 years (with a bit of patching) so I hope this one lasts half that - longer than the motor will work! The only problem was a small bit of 'flash' (plastic oozed out of mold line) that interfered with the top lug/switch actuator. I cleaned it up with a nail clipper and piece of sandpaper..

REVIEW Cuisinart 7-Cup Food Processor Work Bowl for DLC-10 Series, FP-631AGTX-1

The work bowl fit exactly and works fine, but it does indeed contain less plastic than the original as other reviewers have suspected. I know this because I weighed my original and this replacement on a postage scale and the new bowl weighs 10% less than the original. That being said, it does work fine, but it feels more delicate and one needs to be careful with it. The other issue others have mentioned is that when you snap the bowl into place, it takes a lot of force and feels like the force required will certainly break that point in the bowl skirt, where it snaps onto the food processor. I took a dremel tool and ground down the barb that snaps into place on the food processor a little bit. The first photo shows the place on the bowl skirt I am talking about and the second, closeup photo shows the barb after I ground it down. It still snaps into place, but it is now much easier and does not stress the bowl skirt like it was doing before. You could make this fix with a hand file too.

  • Not Durable and Poor Fit

The bowl does not slide in the motor base easily. I need to put some force into it in order for me to be able to use it. Comparing it from the original bowl, this replacement bowl is thinner than the original. I am not sure how long this will withstand the normal wear and tear of using it. Since it is still relatively new and have just used it often enough, I will have to wait and see how the quality will prove itself in time.

  • Classic but fabulous.

Classic, but fabulous. I've had this cuisinart for possibly 20 years. I needed to replace the bowl since it cracked. Found the model number (very tine!) on the bottom of the cuisinart, googled if the bowl I found on Ebay would fit (it did) and ordered it! I have a recipe for cheese crackers from the 1960s. You use a pound of cheddar cheese, which you are supposed to grate. You have to roll the dough into a log and freeze it. I cannot imagine making these crackers without my cuisinart!

  • How to make your Bowl Last Longer

I thought the seller had a good price and the units snaps right onto our base. The problem is that the designers of this product at Cuisinart made this bowl to engage with the base with a twist and snap in place design. The material chosen is nice, clear, and hard so that it will not chip and absorb food. The problem is that the snap in place design requires the base of the bowl to flex outward as it snaps over the retaining features on the base. This gradually cracks the bowl more and more until it breaks and becomes unusable. To make it last longer, used a Drummel tool to grind off/shorten part of the engagement bump feature on the bowl. Then it will not have to flex outward so much when it snaps in place and will crack less and last longer.

  • Replacement bowl

This is a replacement bowl. So as far as durable, I was replacing it because my original had a crack in it and couldn't be used with liquids anymore. The product is made of a plastic that can crack easily. However, the product itself is easy to use, well designed and easy to clean. Overall happy with the product.

  • I’m happy to have a new bowl but not happy that we had to modify it in order to use it.

Like other reviewers mentioned the bowl did not engage properly. It was extremely tight fitting. My husband filed down 3 different places that were shown in other reviewers photos. If we hadn’t read reviews and seen the photos I would have returned the work bowl.

  • Snug fit but it works

This new bowl fits very tight on my original base so needs to be banged into position. I’m hoping this will ease with use over time. Otherwise it works perfectly.

  • Price is inline with the quality of the product.

Purchased as a bowl replacement for DLC-10E which is difficult to find parts for. It fits, but not easily. Works for now, and the price is right to keep the processor usable for the foreseeable future. I'd pay more for a more durable, better quality replacement.

  • Needs adjustments

This cuisinart food processor bowl has saved me from buying a whole new product. As mentioned in other reviews, it needs a little tweeking. I used a fingernail file to slowly grind down the small protrusions on the inside of the bottom rim. I also added a little cooking oil to remove the plastic dust from filing. Now it slides and locks properly.
