The system is fine, and easy to use. I like it; however, I was ignorant about the terminology. I thought 3D and 4K were basically the same, and they are completely different. A 4K will not play on this system. The System sound is good; however, there is a maximum level as to the volume you can turn it up to. Not a problem in my home as we sit relatively close to the action. I would have liked a 4K system, and a system that allows you to individually adjust each speaker. Turn the volume up and all speakers go up simultaneously just like on your TV. You cannot adjust for distance of speakers. No fine tuning, and No 4K. So no 5 Stars from me. You need a 3D TV (I have a 4K) and you need 3D glasses (I don't have them), and so this system is a basic Blu-ray system as far as I'm concerned. I could have done better if I had been educated.Read full review

This is an excellent surround sound system for our motorhome! The only draw back with the Sony System is they do not support the Plex Media Sharing Apps!! Other than that it is a great system. I also have added a powered sub-woofer that really makes this system rock!

dvd player work great ..teriffic picture and sound..but..sony coustomer service blows big time..and the other major drawback is it should be easier to make the sound come out of the t.v. when your signal source is your laptop..which is why i gave it 4 stars and not 5

This macine has blown me away for a unit in this prcie point! I've owned four 3-D macines and htis one really shines. My only complaint would be the wired speakers but in a common installation even they should pose few problems [FYI: the three front speakers have 10' wires, the Subwoofer an 8' wire and the rear speakers both have 18' wires] - in a theatrical projection setup as I have [where the machine/projector are behind the audience] you will have to splice all three front speakers for correct placement, but even this is no biggie. The sound itself is impressive for such small speakers and the subwoofer really starts to thump out the bass when you edge the volume up past 25-27 on the remote. But the BIG surprise is that you can add simulated 3-D to ANY disc you watch! Results vary depending upon the original film and its depth-of-focus, onscreen/camera movement and foreground placement, but overall the results are impressive. You may even tweak this setting further by choosing one of three levels of added depth. I've watched everything from Chaplin silents to the latest TV-series using this feature and it consistantly amazes me. Virtually any old CINEMASCOPE classic is going to shock you when you punch in the 3-D conversion as directors back then really took their cinematography seriously! [HINT: among contemporary directors, Steven Speilberg uses deep-focus lenses ALOT so anything he shot will excel with this conversion.] If you have only a small collection of those pricey 3-D titles [I've collected 3-D films for over 30 years -starting with some hideous VHS transfers- and today still have only 50 or so true 3-D discs], this conversion feature will open up a whole new vista of entertainment as you go back and watch your old favorite 2-D movies anew [luckily I have about 2,000 of those so I'm set for a very, very long time!]. But, you should note that this conversion does NOT generate those popouts that create the "reach out and touch it" experience. It will only add DEPTH to the image to pull you into it - but it's more than sufficent to breath new life into the oldest movie! You also have to reset the 3-D conversion every time you insert a new disc as there is no automatic default feature. KUDOS to SONY for adding this unique feature - it adds a new level of enjoyment to the overall viewing experience!Read full review

This Blu-ray system is terrific. It is attractive, easy to set up and use, and comes with just about every feature you could want. The sound is powerful and quite pleasing; when turned up loud enough, it feels as if you are in a movie theatre with the deep booms. My only complaints: I wish you could modify the individual aspects of the sound (i.e. treble, mid, bass, sub) as opposed to just changing the mode (auto, movie, music). There are occasional connectivity issues or problems reading digital files, but they never last: restarting the device usually fixes it immediately. I would definitely recommend this sound system, I have had mine for two years and have loved every minute.

This is the second Sony system I've had, I wanted a blu- ray system without having to have 2 oieces so I bought an Rca system at Wal-Mart on sale and was thoroughly dissappointed. I went on Ebay and ordered the Sony, It is like comparing a volkswagon to a caddilac. It will overpower a small room but phenominal in a medium sized Room, I can't express the pleasure and richness of sound

I've only had it for a few days but right off the back the system looks very good. It's easy to use and with only two front speakers currently connected the sound is very loud. I can imagine with all 5 of them the 1000w really makes it all worth it. I love the Bluetooth connection.
