    The Genius of Ike

    The bizarre randomness of the way somebody put this brilliant 3 record set together is mind-boggling. Nevertheless, because literally every single track of this is beyond awesome, the randomness doesn't matter. The absolute brilliance of both Ike and Tina is never in doubt. Beyond Tina's brilliant vocals, from gospel to deep blues, there's Ike, whose taste in licks is mind-bogglingly sublime. The work on Blue Thumb records stands up above all. I & T's version of 'The Hunter' will make your toes curl up involuntarily. the there's also "You're Still My Baby' and the pure artifice of 'Crazy 'Bout You, Baby.' Even a track as inconsequential as 'Sugar, Sugar' drips blues like a horny vagina. Every one's a winner!!!
