programing to a Vista 20p
This is a fine product and is easy to program into the Vista series of controllers as long as you don't read the instructions in the manual. I spent 8 hours pouring over the online installation and user manuals trying to write a list of programming commands to set up this key. After finishing my research, I still had several unanswered questions. So, I attempted to program the key using the two pages in the manual including using the templates supplied in the manual. The key did not work. The Vista 20p would not recognize it... So, after watching a couple of YouTube videos of the key being programed, I deleted all that I had programed about the key and started over. The simple solution; program the key as any other wireless device as long as you have at least four empty slots. Set up the device as a wireless button device and 'learn in' the address by pressing the 'arm' button. Confirm the address by pressing the same button. This needs to be repeated for each button that you plan to use. And it works... no need for templates etc.. After finding the Zn number for a button wireless device, the rest was as easy as programming any other wireless device.. after properly programming the device, it works great. Piece of junk!
I fully understand that the item was purchased used HOWEVER, I did not expect the battery to fall out when I opened the case to change the battery. Also a small black piece of plastic fell out of the case as I opened it....I can only assume that it came from the bracket that hold the battery in place. The photos in your advertisement did not represent the item that was mailed to me. In your photo the reverse (back) of the fob were 3 tags (1 with 04KEY), (1 with 5434-4ADTLP) and (1 with A 050-2145). The item mailed to me had no tags on the back. I may be wrong but, I was expecting to receive the item in the photo...if the item I received had been pictured I would not have made the purchase. Hardy product; never fails; long range.
I've been using the Honeywell 5834-4 Keyfob 20P alarm systems for several years now. The range is excellent; I think about 300 ft down my street. We use these to set our system to MAXIMUM, which means my system will go into alarm immediately if my perimeter is breached. I cannot afford an iffy remote control. This keyfob has never failed. Handy size, good distance reach, great quality, good price
Original FOB. Medium difficulty to add to my Lynx L5200 (I am a homeowner, not an alarm pro). The enclosed instructions assume that you have done other steps (add users in the system) before you add the FOB to a user. I had to find that information on the net, and play with the steps until I got it right. After I added the first FOB, adding the second one was a cinch. Other than that, this FOB is in a handy size, and it has a great distance reach. Sometimes I am already on the street leaving the house and I can arm the system from there (maybe 100 ft). Finally Working!
Price was great & product was superb,,,however unknown to me was that after a certain year of manufacture, the wireless remotes were manufactured in a high security mode that must be disabled to work with some existing systems. This little nugget was discovered searching online when I couldn't figure out why the fob seemed to pair with the system but would not function...about the time I was going to order another one, I found an article on the new high security mode on the fobs, They didn't change the part number to alert anyone so Honeywell kinda hosed folks on that, Once the new mode was made aware & turned off, the fob works as it should!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Wireless Keyfob
This keyfob worked well, once I figured out that I had to sync it to the control panel, before it was even possible to program it into the system. Otherwise it simply would not work, even though it was registered and programmed in control panel. These are simple to program, once the keyfob is synced with the control panel. Battery holder breaks
Fob quit working after 2 years. Opened it up to replace the battery and found the part that holds the battery in place had broken away from the circuit board. Had the alarm company out to replace it and they said the problem is very common with those fobs. Other than that, it works well, has good range, and is super convenient - much better than walking to the keypad every time I need to arm or disarm. Remotes worked well with system
This was a purchase for 6 alarm remotes for $59 shipped. They come without directions in a shrink wrapped bag with serial number sticker on the outside. That is a heck of a deal even though I only need 5. As it turns out one had its serial number tag missing so it was not easily programmed. With effort it can be read by the alarm system or it might be listed inside the remote. Instead we installed the needed 5 and all of those worked well.
