Fantastic board...but I got mine in a local purchase...in a package with 32GB DDR3 1600 HyperX Fury Ram, an i7-3820, and a CoolerMaster Tower cooler. All together...$220. Valuing each component...it means the board itself cost me $20. At $300 or higher, this board becomes a questionable purchase. Ryzen platforms are the obvious choice at these price levels. However, if you can acquire a decent board like this for $250 or less, and you already own an unlocked 6C/8T i7 or XEON and at least 16GB of DDR3, then such a purchase makes sense. IMO. Also, check out decent Chinese boards like HuananZhi X79 deluxe, which I also set up for one of my kids. Paired with a decent CPU like E5-2687W V2 or E5-4627V2, this setup is also excellent IMO.
