Love this Canon SX700 The wi fi facility coupled to the Canon app makes transferring high quality images to my phone too easy !

This is the second camera I have bought, it takes amazing shots for the size. No extra lenses required. Also takes great HD movies. It fits nicely into your pocket. Its compact size is ideal for travelling without the weight and bulk of SLRs and lenses. The camera is easy to use and has features used by the average person. The x30 optical zoom is enhanced to x120 zoom digitally. Four of our friends have bought this model camera after looking at my pictures. That speaks for it self, in my opinion. Night shots require flash to be raised manually, I do not know why this was the case as the previous model had auto pop up flash. Not a real issue for me as I do not take that many night shots but it takes great shots even with the flash off.
It's such a shame, I have had many years experience working with Canon, I'd hoped they'd sorted out their technology issues. Canon made great cameras & great photocopiers then the digital age arrived. The Powershot SX700 HS seems like a great camera with a couple of minor annoyances & one great flaw. As with so much Canon the design was great until it came to the digital interface & it would seem the design team faced with the mysteries of WiFI & internet created a complicated disaster with software that simply doesn't work & being stupidly locked into using this non working software you are locked out of using much of the online features. To make things worse this complex buggy system just to upload/safegaurd your photos is made more difficult by the absence of a manual. Yes it's available online, 198 pages of pdf inc the usual paper garbage associated with paper manuals on how not to electrocute yourself while charging the camera that you could just flick through & find what you need on paper if only it was included. So Canon made life even more difficult with this bit of unnecessary tightness on a relatively expensive camera. Shame Canon, from the feedback & frustration I'm reading from your victims you haven't changed a bit, beautiful optics let down by a complete technology blindspot.Read full review
