Seiko SKX007J1 an Amazing Entry Level Diver
I absolutely love this watch! It looks very stylish with the original black rubber dive band, however if replaced with a super oyster steel band (stropcode/miltat) it looks like a $1000 watch! It is very comfortable, feels solid on the wrist and I feel it sits very nicely. It works well within the movement specs, mine gains about 10s daily. Overall I'm very pleased with the watch. It has some minor flaws including misaligned chapter ring which is a well known issue but it is barely noticeable and doesn't bother me, but may bother some. Also it is not a hacking or winding movement which may bother others. Overall the value of this watch is outstanding. Would give it 4.5/5 because of minor flaws mentioned above, this could be QC issue or just to save cost as this watch is incredible for the price. This watch is iconic and is a must have daily watch for anyone in the market for an automatic diver.

Absolute tank of a watch
The skx007 is an incredible watch for the price even though it has increased in price after being discontinued. I bought the watch because I wanted a solid wear anywhere mechanical watch which wouldn't get damaged too easily and didn't look cheap while also not being in your face or look at me. After receiving it I was even happier with it than I expected. The finish is really nice it's not too big for my wrist which I was a bit worried it might be and the lume is incredible, lasting long enough that if I wake up in a pitch black room after sleeping for 7 hours I can still just see it enough to read the time. The bezel also feels nice and tight and clicky, very satisfying to use. The only features which some people don't like are missing with this watch are hacking and hand winding. While these would be nice to have if you wear the watch everyday like I have been and are relatively active it will keep itself wound with no issues, no need to shake it to keep it going. You may have a different experience if you don't wear it often enough or work an office job and don't move around too much. Hacking on the other hand would be nice to set the time to the second but the the accuracy being +/- 20 seconds or so per day I believe with these watches this feature doesn't really make sense. Mine seems to keep within 10 seconds or so per day which I am very happy with but it. I may be wrong but I have also heard that with the increase in complexity with more accurate watches and watches with more features often makes them more fragile. There are many videos online of just how much abuse this watch can take and it just keeps going. Taking that into account I'm not sure I would even want the extra features at the expense of possibly losing durability which I highly value. Overall I highly recommend buying one. Suits my style, even with an unlimited budget I would still wear this watch. Any shortcomings with with watch are greatly out weighted by its value to me. (Also imo nothing wrong with the stock band that many people like to swap out immediately after buying. I find it quite comfortable and stylish, just because it's a rubber band and can be bought cheaply doesn't mean it's bad. A great value beater watch
Product arrived exactly as described. It is in brand new condition, keeps accurate time well inside the rated performance. The lume is good and it was easy enough for me to transfer the watch onto a NATO strap to replace the slightly heavy rubber strap it ships with. I have taken it into a rough Pacific Ocean three times now without any ill effect. It feels pretty indestructible. If you’re a watch enthusiast, you should have this in your collection. What a great watch it is, I wear it pretty much everyday, very comfortable and the dial size is just perfect on my wrist. Seiko SKX - Best value robust diver in the world.
Buy one of these while they are still affordable. These SKX ‘J’ (Made in Japan’) versions tend to have fewer alignment issues and much better accuracy than the ‘K’ versions (supposedly made outside Japan). My new SKX007J runs about 1-2 seconds fast per day. That’s fantastic! And the now discontinued SKX range uses the lower beat (21,600 bph) 7s26 movement with Seiko’s ‘Magic Lever’ bidirectional rotor winding mechanism that winds the main spring as the rotor spins in both directions. It’s a basic movement but one that’s durable. Even the plastic internal spacer ring helps to protect the movement from shocks. The fact that this watch doesn’t hack or have manual winding is in my opinion irrelevant. I’ve owned many Rolex Submariners and Tudor Black Bays (ETA and in-house movement versions) and this SKX is as solid a watch that will last for years without a service. Sure it’s not a high-end hand-built watch - but who cares! A fantastic timepiece that once again (this is my fifth SKX) is one of my daily wearers. Being this watch back Seiko - it’s a much better looking and more wearable watch than the Turtles, mini-Turtles and Samurais. I’ve owned many versions of these but sold them all. This SKX is a keeper. And the watch came strapped to a cushion which means that the stiff rubber strap is already shaped to fit a wrist. So even the dated strap is a perfect and comfortable fit. Classic diver's watch lives up to its reputation
I'd always fancied an SKX007 but never got around to buying one. When I read that Seiko was seemingly discontinuing the model I decided to take the plunge and I'm pleased I did. I love the offset crown, the not-too-large size, the smooth bezel and the general feeling of solidity. I'm also pleased with the amazing accuracy, which I wasn't expecting as this model isn't noted for it. OK, unlike my Orient Ray II, it isn't hackable, you can't hand-wind it and the top of the bezel is infintiteimally misaligned. Fortunately, none of these things bother me, and although the Orient is a great watch I think I now just slightly prefer this one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The SKX007 would be considered one of the best entry level diver watches on the market today. Its build quality is exceptional. It keeps good time as you would expect an automatic at this price to be. The 7S26 movement has a history of success and proven over the years to be a stable product.
