I bought one of these from GoodsJapan a few years back. I have used this kiln on top of an old Coleman camping gas stove since buying it and have had great success. Simply built from good quality materials, it performs the task of firing metal clay admirably. Design quality is even reflected by the inclusion of a counter weight mounted to the kiln to offset the weight of the handle. The fireproof materials are of top notch quality and easily capable of being exposed to kiln temps for many hundreds of uses. The only downside is that there are no replacement parts available from the supplier, so if you break a bit of the fireproof material, a total replacement will be required. However unless you are clumsy, replacement won't be an issue for years. It is cheaper and easier to use than the big electric kilns and takes up no space. I have taken mine on the road to shows and used it where ever I go. It makes the process of firing silver clay easy and removes 99% of the nonsense spoken by so many so called experts, as there is no need to learn ramp times, cooling times or any of the other so called rules. I have even used this kiln with dry alcohol fuel pellets with total success, although I did use four pellets for each firing to ensure good heat density. In summary, this little kiln, simple and basic as it might look, does the job admirably and can be highly recommended in all regards. The pic shown are two pieces made using the kiln and also the enamel fired on it too.Read full review
