Sony manufactured a design classic here with great features, customisation and ease of use. Only flaw is it is a Sony and a digital imaging device not a camera with the natural handling of the Ricoh GR (series pre and post 2013). Can be improved with add-on accessories such as a front silicone handgrip. All in all a great purchase at bargain prices for a 20mp one inch sensor travelling camera.

Bought this camera after weeks of review reading and positive comments from other users. The images I took were good, the auto focus was good, the dynamic range was good, and the low light performance was adequate, but non of these important things IMHO were excellent. Perhaps I am being unfair however, as I can't help comparing all camera's to my PERFECT Olympus OM-D EM1? This Sony is the best compact I have used but I am prepared to carry the Olympus around for the extra performance, even though it is twice the size and weight.

The controls are a bit fiddly to use but persevere and you will be rewarded. Cheap of Sony to only include a brief instruction manual to keep costs down but if you go online to their website you can download the full brilliant manual. Has many features not found on entry level SLR's, and some high end features such as built in ND filter and wireless streaming to your smartphone for instant messaging. Viewing screen can be adjusted for selfies or waist level shooting. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase.

I’ve been using the RX100 III for a couple of weeks now. All in all, it’s a really good camera. Really portable, great image quality for it’s size and easy to use with a ton of customisation options for the controls. There are a few things I think could be improved though. The digital view finder is great, it pops up and you have to manually extend it a bit by pulling. No problem here, but, I wear glasses and sometimes the frame pushes the extended part resulting in a blurry view. My second gripe is the lack of a second control wheel, on the front. As it is now I find sometimes I’m missing a quick control. Especially if I want to shoot with manual focus.

I've previously had the Mk1 version which is very good but the fixed screen was a bit limiting. The zoom range on the Mk1 version had better reach, but slower as you zoom in (worse in low light conditions). The articulated screen which also does selfies is excellent. The zoom isn't as good but much better in low light, makes a big difference. Highly recommended.
