I Should have got one ages ago, works well on all floor types, the only thing is , long hair gets stuck around the barrel, but it is easily removed.

Everyone has had the talk up of Dyson right? Brand new and second time I used it the Cleaner Turbine Head wouldn’t rotate. Warranty provided another Twelve months later it seized too. I decided to buy tools to open it up to see why. It was quite clean only for a seized bearing. Again. That’s two the same. I paid $1100 for this over priced junk and have had to buy the head again #3 and expensive at that. Shocking quality and cheap. My floor is a modest 3 bedroom cork sealed floor & new carpet. When this head fails (& it will) I’ll have to get a cheap Chinese piece of junk.

I bought my Dyson believing all the hype about its superiority but it hasn't lived up to its price. My turbo head that came with the machine only lasted just over a year---just after the end of the warranty. ---The rubber strips which rotate with the brushes wore right down to the wheel base. The gears broke and this was the final death blow. When this head gives out, I will go back to a normal vacuum.
