This was a great deal. It included all thirteen of the studio releases, two of which are double albums. It also comes with The Beatles Past Masters and a DVD documentary. That’s seventeen disks in all. All the original titles come in a picture sleeve with an information pamphlet included. It’s great to have all the titles in one set. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

Paid $80 for this set - knowing full well that you can NOT get a “legitimate” sealed box for that price. I already have the vinyl; got this solely to load the music into my car (and iTunes). Haven’t had a problem yet (but it’s pretty early in the game). Get the set for the sounds, not the collector’s value.

I bought the Beatles Stereo Box Set from vendor (DRMJO from ebay)with the expectation that I was getting an original product. Since I was unaware that there were bootleg Box sets. .Unfortunately it is too late to return it to the vendor since s/he was NOT truthful in the first place and I may not get refund. ( I prefer keep the fake box now , that I lost everything). So if you are thinking of buying The Beatles Stereo Box set from anyone on eBay, make sure you get in writting first before you bid that you are getting an original and not a bootleg set. The set that we received had fingerprints on the CDS and The Revolver CD has spelling errors on the back of the CD cover. It says Paul MCCarirmy instead of Paul McCartney and Ringo Start and George Harrisun. The box states that it was printed in EU and not USA and the Capitol Records Logo is missing a long with FBI Anti-Piracy Logo. Since they are bootleg, we do not know if the sound is as good and crisp as the original. So to sum up again, buyer beware and save yourself the embarrassment I went through by buying a bootleg Beatles Stereo Box CD. Also the most of disc jackets are unglue. An awesome set, but if you are still on the fence about getting it because of individuals posting luke-warm or negative reviews, please read on. Almost 5 years after it's release, there are still a whole host of wanna-be audio engineers that are still finding faults that do not exist. Or worse, there are knuckleheads posting negatives because they can't locate all of the songs in the set, or got stuck with a Chinese bootleg. My point is, ignore these people and get this set! If the stereo versions of The Beatle's music is the definitive version to you, you need this set! Compared to any vinyl versions, or even pre-recorded open reel versions, it becomes obvious that this is the best version of the catalog to date. Audiophiles have posted little treatises as to why their old EMI or MFSL vinyl sounds better and Blah blah blah...fact is, the majority of audiophile opinions are subjective at best, based on a belief system rather than what a particular medium actually produces audio-wise. Again, these sound great; totally analog sound on a good system. Understand one thing: this is a re-master of the original two channel master tapes, not a remix. So the sound stage will not be different, but with better overall mastering you get broader dynamics, smoother mids and highs, reduced harmonic distortion and all around warmer sound, not to mention clarity. And to the vinyl addicts; the LPs you are listening to have had heavier compression/limiting than what was employed on these CDs. The limiting applied on these CDs was very judiciously used to control transient peaks that would not have been audible in any event. As a mastering engineer, I have to be open, neutral, and critical of my own preferences. I'll be the first to admit there are a lot of great sounding LPs out there, and I enjoy some coloring that high end systems provide, but these CDs smoke their analog counterparts! The only way this will get better is if they, one day, remix the catalog, (the first two albums would not benefit from a remix, as they were recorded with a 2 track recorder, hence, there is nothing to remix). My understanding is that Giles Martin has archived all of the pre production masters to digital, so much of the conversion labor is done. Remixing from these recordings would give us, for the first time, mixes from 1st generation sources. This has been done on Yellow Submarine Songtrack, The Anthology, and Love. If this set sounds bad to you, you either have an over-optimized system (audiophiles tend to build systems that emphasize a particular instrument or vocal as opposed to overall sound and rarely have a decent CD player), a crap system, or you are in severe need of a Q-tip. Bootlegs are the other problem. If the seller posts that the Box was Made in EU, it is most likely a bootleg! I recommend looking up the set on Amazon, as there are photos posted showing the difference between a legitimate copy and a boot. If you find the set and its well below the suggested retail price, proceed with extreme caution! As a lifelong Beatle fan, audiophile, mastering engineer and musician, this has been an extremely thrilling listening experience, and I am still excited! Just a side note, if you want to hear just how much better it could get, get a copy of the Yellow Submarine Songtrack CD, (not to be confused with the soundtrack album from the movie), or the Love album, and hear how remixing would affect your overall experience. Cheers!Read full review
After more than 22 years of having The Beatles' albums on CD, we are finally treated to the definitive box set of Beatles music. This time, the folks at EMI and Apple finally got things right for a change. While having Beatles CDs is a thrill, it is now even more-so with this brilliant audio collection. For the very first time, their entire recorded output has been remastered for the 21st century, complete with unique liner notes and special digipak-packaging to boot. With the exception of the "Past Masters" set, each disc also contains a brief mini-documentary about that album. These short bits can only be utilised with the assistance of a computer's disc drive. However, the box set does include a bonus DVD disc featuring all of these short sequences together so you can enjoy it on your very own DVD player. What you have here are the original British Beatles albums just like what had been released before; only now, the listener can enjoy the first 4 albums - "Please Please Me". "With The Beatles", "A Hard Day's Night", "Beatles For Sale" - available in true stereo for the very first time. Combined with the remaining 9 albums recorded by the group between 1965 and 1970, this is a masterpiece set, and a special treasure trove of timeless, classic songs that changed the entire structure of popular music as we know it today. Many current and legendary artists have called The Beatles a major influence. One listen to this music and you too will see why. Beatlemania will live on forever!Read full review
Anybody, Anywhere that is even the slightest fan or collector of nostalgic music, into the roots of rock needs to have this collection. It's mindblowing every studio record the Beatles did fully remastered in stereo, with the tecnology we have today. This is almost something you just want to frame and not even open, it's that much of a collector's item. If you're too young to have even heard of the Beatles, but you love music you need to own this piece of history. I personally love the Beatles as it is, I've even attended Beatlefest which they have every year in Downtown L.A. for 3 days, it's incredible, how many Beatlemaniacs there are out there. I probably already have most if not all of the CD's in this package, but I had to have the new fully stereo remastered version as well, I was gonna buy this no matter what. Now get yourself a piece of history, that you can pass on to the grandkids!!!Read full review

This will be a short review, but might help those who want are looking for gift for a Beatles fan. I purchased this for my older sister, she is 10 years older than I, so her musical tastes are different than mine. I like the Beatles, but I didn't grow up with John, Paul, Ringo, and George like my sister did. I was looking for a unique gift for my sister, for Christmas and read an article about the Beatles: Stereo Box Set. I went down to her house recently and we sat out on the porch at night, just the two of us, and listened to some of the "albums" in the box set. It was fun to listen to her talk about her childhood before I was born. Like, when she was in elementary and her and other girls would have a slumber party and they would all take turns playing their 45 records. It was interesting listening to her talk about how she grew up with the Beatles and their music. In conclusion if you have a friend of relative that enjoys The Beatles, this would make a most excellent gift. I was never that close to my sister, as she left home when I was a young child, but this box set, as well as other things have allowed me to grow close to my big sis.Read full review
great set! remastering in my opinion has improved the sound on many of the cds. i do not think there can be any dispute on that. i have the beatles' mfsl(mobile fidelity sound lab) half-speed mastered LP box sets from japan. the cd box set is as close to the mastersound mfsl LPS as you can possibly have. the mfsl LP box sets are still the emperor of beatles' mastersound pressings. nothing can beat that ever! but i can not play LPS in my car or all the time, and cds are always more convenient to play, hence it makes sense for me to own this set. for the greatest majority of listeners who do not play vinyl anymore, ownership of this cd box set would be something to be happy about...kaiser t
I really wanted to have the entire Beatles collection as soon as it came out. I realized that over the years that I really didn't have anything they ever did. The Beatles were a big part of my young years and I thought it would be nice to have all the albums together in one neat package. That way I could listen to what I wanted when I wanted. When the set first came out, I felt it was priced a little high for me. I watched this particular auction and the price was low. To my surprise I won. I felt I got a great deal. I haven't had time to listen to them yet but the set was everything I wanted. Ebay makes it easy to find just about anything and if you're lucky there are deals out there!
