Good device to have
I used this to splice to another building while having the surge protection. Mine is outside and I don't know if they're recommended for inside use but if they are, use it there instead. The seal that keeps water out is a little thin so when it rains really hard some of the water gets inside and causes it to shut down until you reset it dry.
