Glad I got it!
I am very pleased with my new Infinity wifi touch control thermostat. Those of us who have the infinity series HVAC cannot use any of the generic thermostats (even Nest or the new COR by Ecobee), at least not without major modifications that eliminate some of our features. Also, the Infinity brands are very expensive and usually have to be bought/installed by a Carrier service. USE EBAY: I was able to get this brand new unit at a good price, and install it myself in place of my old style Infinity unit. The hardest part of the install was getting the old unit off the wall. I was even able to reuse the old mounting screws exactly where they were. I downloaded a pdf on the install, but it was pretty much self-setup. Once you hold the "service" icon for 10 seconds you go to the section where the install starts. Just touch it and go through the guided steps. It reads your system and identifies the components. WiFi setup is easy also. Just have your home wifi password ready. If you have wifi already you do NOT need to buy the unit with the router. Once installed and setup the control works so much easier than the old unit. Scheduling and changing your schedule, or using the temporary hold system are vastly simpler than any other thermostat I have programmed before. And the wifi app on my iPhone works flawlessly. I have read some older reviews of the app, that complained about it. But, apparently in the later versions they worked out all the bugs. If you have an infinity series Carrier system, do your self a favor and get this. You will be glad you did. But do not pay full price. Go to an Ebay vendor and make a reasonable offer. My first vendor was terrible....never sent the unit, and charged a lot more. BUT EBAY WAS GREAT AND RESPONDED FAST. The last eBay vendor was the exact opposite. Low price, fast delivery. Great except for wifi, warranty doesn't cover internet sales
I was able to install this myself pretty easily. It has much better functionality than older model that came with my system before these touch screen thermostats came out. In particular, it has a more robust vacation feature. The wifi feature is nice, once I got it working, but that was a total pain. Does not support passwords of more than 16 characters, which are common with WPA2 wifi encryption. Online reviews indicate many, many problems with getting wifi to work. My usual HVAC service technician said many of their clients do too, and many never hook up the wifi connection. I tried several wifi password configurations; only a totally non-password protected wifi network seemed to work reliably; not a great idea. Carrier support was not much help on that. Internet sales are excluded from their warranty, which is very lame. Clearly, they're favoring their service providers with that, but I saved nearly $450 by buying online and installing it myself. But it turned out I didn't need a warranty replacement or repair. The unit just has serious flaws in its wifi connectability by virtue of poor design. Aside from that, works great. Lots of good reasons to replace non-touch-screen older models with this one even without the wifi.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works well though expensive
The unit was easy to install and worked immediately. It's easy and intuitive to setup the desired time/temp schedules. And the wifi / Internet / iOS app connection was easy and so far completely reliable. My one reservation for the product is its cost. The reason it costs more than a Nest isn't that it does more but that to use the full features of the Infinity HVAC system you must use their thermostat due to its proprietary comms bus. One feature of the Nest I wish this had was the motion sensor. It could learn when I'm home and when I'm not and could control the display based on movement rather than time of day. Hook up easy and followed screen promos. And even one my other side of the house, the 2 zone, upstairs. Read it and away it went. Very acurit . My wife loves the weather app. Updates all the time, I got the wifi enabled unit . You have to go with wifi, of you be glad you did. I love the display, good and bright. This is a must buy for your Carrier infintyn system. The ebee, and other smart thermostats will not work, I know I tried them, almost blew the mother board. As the only option for modern wifi connected thermostat for owners of a Carrier Infinity HVAC control system it is good this works fairly well. It is very intuitive to use and a breeze to program, much more so then the Nest thermostats I've had in the past. The mobile app is responsive and matches exactly the interface of the thermostat which, as I already mentioned, is an intuitive one. My two favorite features is that it shows the outside temperature and weather on the home screen and you can input your utility rates and it will tell you your daily/monthly energy consumption. Worth The Cost
When you purchase a Carrier Infinity heating & cooling system, it's expensive. In order for the system to operate at maximum capability/efficiency, this Infinity - Version 13 touch screen - WiFi thermostat is worth the investment. Very easy to install & launch. iPhone 10 compatible. Carrier really did a great job designing this, offering full smartphone access, hence the 13 versions. Very high quality, very clear graphics. Once you register this thermostat with Carrier, they will be able to monitor your systems performance, a very nice feature.
