Good alternative to the battery powered movers but without the need for a battery (and all the associated mintenance)
The power mover is quick, easy to fit and will move your van with minimal effort. Pros I was able to use it to position my 1500kg van in our driveway and push one wheel onto a leveling ramp so the fridge would function with out assistance. It has the advantage of not needing a battery to operate. Cons It is quite heavy - I would not consider taking it on the road as I have a tight weight allowance on my van. The change of drive direction takes a bit of getting used to as you have to move 2 levers to achieve this - there is also a possibility of locking these pauls in opposite directions, if this is done while there is weight on the wheel it takes significant effort to release this pressure to change one of the levers to the correct position.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Heavy but well made
I only have one problem. My driveway has a VERY SMALL slope and when I was moving my caravan in the direction of the slope all of a sudden the caravan started moving on its own and I had no control at all and it only stopped when it hit my fence. The length that the caravan rolled with the Jockey wheel going Click Click Click as it rolled past each of the half circle cut outs was only 1/2 a metre but it certainly gave me a fright. There are only two direction that I can move the van and they are forwards and backwards. I tried to put it in the backwards mode to see if that would work that way but obviously it didn't. What am I doing wrong or is this a flaw in the product. Apart from that little episode it worked fine when I was going backwards UP the small slope it worked fine. Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I have not left feedback on ebay yet as I would like to hear your opinion on what I may be doing wrong and I want my feedback to be honest. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Heavy but serves the purpose
The power wheel was meant to make the moving of the van easier. If the towing arrangement hadn't been so crowded with cables and swaybars it would have been perfect (except for the weight). In reality it was awkward for me to fit on MY setup but may well be great and simple for bigger vans. I will use it to move the van when the extra need arises but will use the standard wheel in simple positions. I would recommend it for heavier vans with space to fit it and a relatively high chassis clearance height to enable easier fitting. The actual rachet movement is easy and problem free. The pity is that it would cost an arm and a leg to return it and the repackaging would be a real pain! I undounbtedly will use it but not as often (constantly) as I was planning. ALKO power mover
I have a weak back due to a motor cycle incident earlier in life and was struggling to move my 1.5t van without causing pain. The ALKO power mover is great, easy to use and really does move the van with ease. If you ratchet at a good speed you can move the van at almost walking pace and steering with the long handle makes it that much easier to get the van into tight spaces! absolute must!
