Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Wheels & Wheelsets
I’m around 200lbs with horse legs for climbing and thrash these wheels pretty hard on the trails. The CROFT Team SL is my second set of wheels from this brand. They are bulletproof until you have a hub issue, but it takes about 1500 to 2000 miles for anything to happen. I used to have a set of CROFT Racelite wheels, but at this mileage the press in ratchet ring for the freehub body on the rear wheel started to spin inside the hub and there was no way to fix it. Knowing how good of a deal CROFT wheels are, I purchased these Team SL wheels and can say they lasted about the same amount of mileage until I had a major issue. What happened this time is that the press in ratchet ring cracked in a few places from all the abuse, though I am sure if I had done maintenance and cleaning to my bike like I should, it may have not happened. The point I am trying to make is that these Team SL wheels are rebuildable for cheap if you get creative with a hammer and deep socket set, but more importantly, that they are a great deal. Through research and experience, the rear wheel uses 6001-2RS sealed bearings which are dirt cheap, easy to find, and easy to replace in the event they go out. The ratchet ring is a press in 27 tooth Novatec ring with 6 tabs on the outside and can be found as SKU BF-NV-RR-27T-PF from Bike Fetish bike shop in Temecula California. This ring is meant for a Novatec D772SB hub which CROFT May be using, but just as a rebranded part. As a side note, I have had zero issues with the front wheels from CROFT. I highly recommend these wheels, but just be sure to service them every once in a while like you should to any wheel and you should be fine.Read full review
