Local storage is better than paying for cloud space
A lot of camera manufacturers have gone to cloud recording because it creates an ongoing revenue when your cameras record events (i.e. you have to rent storage space on a server where your camera recordings are held). A good NVR does mean some additional outlay at the beginning but there are no ongoing costs after that and your camera recordings are captured by the on board hard drive. I purchased the NVR with a 4 Terra bite hard drive which provides 21 days of continuous recording (sufficient space for a 3 week holiday). I coupled the Hikvision NVR with 8 Hikvision ColorVu cameras and they provide high quality images day and night on the NVR. When you connect to the NVR using the Hik-Connect App you can live view all cameras from anywhere around the world provided you have an internet connection. I’m not experienced at installing security equipment but had no problem installing and setting up the Hikvision NVR. I recommend this product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
