Having already stripped and cleaned the calipers, it was time time to do the master cylinder to see if that cured the lack of feel with brakes.
Pull apart is very easy.
Hardest part is the circlip removal. Just minimum space makes it hard to see.
Ensure the cups are seated in the correct direction. Draw/photo during pull down will help their direction.
Everything was a exact fit and a perfect match.
Braking is now every bit as good as it was in 1997 when the bike was new.
A tad pricey around $5 a piece but we'll worth it and certainly cheaper than a new master cylinder.
Overall impressions - every piece is as good as, if not better, than the OEM parts.
800 kms done since rebuild and it still perfect.
Very happy.
