Needed a higher output generator to run a lathe and other tools in a remote shed, didn't have the budget for a big name brand. This machine has done about 20 hours so far (usually 1-2 hours at a time) and hasn't missed a beat. Easy to start and relatively quiet, handles a 3/4 HP metal lathe well (overload light flashes briefly on lathe start but no problems once running) and have run grinders, drills, vacuum cleaners and various lights without issue. Very happy with purchase and hoping it lasts a while. It is reasonable heavy (as expected for a 3.2kVA) , e.g. if camping would be a pull out of the back of the ute and set up on ground, you wouldn't want to be carting it any great distance.

I am very familiar with small and large engines living on a large property with considerable number of machines, agricultural equipment and a standalone solar system with diesel generator back up. I maintain the majority of our equipment and am capable mechanic. Credentials offerred for this reason. My reason for purchasing this generator was for a small quiet unit to run late at night when battery banks are low during wet season, long periods of overcast weather etc, our large 10/12 KVA diesel generators are used during the day if this occurs and will charge our battery banks and run our heavy loads , welders, large air compressors etc On fueling and oiling up this generator I was able after 3 pulls of the pull cord to start it, i was pleased. I allowed it to run with a small load for 10 minutes then shut it down. Firstly there was no comprehensive instruction manual/sheet. For the uniniated this is problematic, I understood the needs due to experience, but some may need the oil grade requirement and or fuel grade as a prerequisite for running. Two days later i attempted to start the generator and it refused to start, I had closed off the fuel controll and run the generator until it faltered as fuel in the heat can expand in the carburetteur bowl creating problems with needle and seat float. Attempting to access air cleaner with a small dose of "aerostart" (ether) was difficult as it the air inlet is not very accessible even with side cover removed. I suspected flooding, I eliminated the chke and attempted pulling the engine over a few times to no avail. The next day I was able to get it started with a half choke and it spluttered foe a while until running smoothly, I suspected over fueling. Incidently we only use 95 octane unleaded here for our chainsaws as it is better able to last longer and meet compression specs. All our vehicles and machinery are diesel engines. I am able to use it however it does present problems with starting that may stymy less experienced users. The inverter generator side is stable voltage and frequency wise and has the capacity to operate our inverter air conditioning plus some other low load appliances concurrently as a back up. However it is a problematic starter unlike a smaller capacity Yamaha unit we use when travelling. It may be a one off, I did expect better with a fuel injected engine, however the price i paid was 25% of our smaller 2kva Yamaha inverter generator and therefore good value. Unsure as to recommending this unit!Read full review

Its a good reliable generator. Had it for couple of months now. It rated output is not quite the 3.2 kva as stated. At 2.8kva it trips the overload at power factor 1. At .8 power factor this would be less. Still to test the trip rating of .8 pf load test. The generator starts easy. Reasonably quiet and is good on fuel use. It is a bit bulky to most generators but does have some insulation and sound proofing. Its a touch weighty but manageable. All in all its a good cheap generator just have to watch the loads running off it.

I purchased a Honda 3kVA portable generator 12 yrs ago, the cost at that time was $4000 , this unit has all the features of my former unit at a fraction of the cost..I have 2 Petrol Baumr-AG chainsaws ,& a Baumr-AG petrol whipper snipper, these 3 pieces of equipment have been used for some 8 yrs or so and I have had no serious *problems with them..I have only been using the Gen-set for a week so I cannot comment further *Both the chainsaws leaked oil via the chain lube pump within hrs of operation.

The online operating manual is thorough and the machine very simple to operate. The fuel injection makes the machine extremely easy to start compared to carburettor type engine, after priming it only required two pulls of the starter for initial start and has started first go on subsequent use with no need for choke. Noise appears to be a lot less than my old generic brand item. I would definitely recommend this machine as good value for the price.
