Range could be a little more but ok for most people. But over all it's easy to use. I don't use the app as it's buggy on my phone.

a huge disappointment. i cannot use the app because it crashes anytime it connects to the device. the device constantly reacts to things that are not radars so it’s just a nuisance and by the time any kind of real warning might come through i would not even know since there are so many false alarms. i wish i had not bought this. i do NOT recommend!

I purchased this because my old Whistler lost it's voice! The speaker stopped working and it's discontinued so they only want to sell me a new one. I thought, well I have an iPhone which is on the dash all the time so might as well put it to some more use besides being my source of music, phone, nearly everything except cruise control (yet!). I was skeptical at first but I really like the fact that you can use the unit separately if needed; however, that is my dislike. You can only have voice if connected via bluetooth to iPhone, if you don't know what the beeps mean you don't really know what's setting it off. But then again, it's meant to get your attention to "check your speed". I know there are models out there with all the bells and whistles built in, but the the price, with the iPhone app for free, I think it's a good bargain. I can't tell if it works while the iPod is playing - there's a setting for "background alerts" but unsure what it is as the iRadar hasn't gone off while the music was playing so I'm unsure about that part. I'm a little concerned that I rarely get many alerts (I like that you can turn off the bands since "X" band is pretty much grocery store scanners), but then I haven't seen any law enforcement officers. I'm hoping it's there when I need it as my Whistler saved me several times from laser guns. I guess time will tell.Read full review
I bought it to avoid speed tickets and I would say it has paid for itself in the few days I have had it. The radar when connected to my iPhone makes the radar more productive and user friendly. The app is always having updates so I feel I'm up to date. The downside of having it connected to my iPhone is that it drains my battery but I'm not mad about that because the radar brings a connector for my usb iPhone cable, making it a radar and charger at the same time. I do dislike the power connector, its doesn't stay firmly in the cigar outlet and sometimes if I touch it by mistake, specially if the iPhone usb is connected, the 6radar may turn off without knowing. For the price I'm very pleased but it doesn't compare to the performance of a v1 or an escort but then again neither does its price.Read full review
This product worked as advertised. I downloaded the free app for my iPhone, paired the iRad blue tooth, mounted the unit on my windshield, plugged it in and it was ready to go. Aside from giving voice readings, it coordinates the functions with your iPhone when you open the app. The app can be viewed as a map which shows locations of known traffic cameras & radar traps or as a dashboard that shows direction, speed, etc. The detected band alerts are announced by voice & by flags on your screen. If for some reason you don't open the app on your iPhone, the unit will still announce detected bands on your speaker, but you will not see the band lit up. This is my 1st detector. I am not a speeder & have not been ticketed in over 50 years, but I like to use it as a reminder & to be alerted to emergency vehicles in the area.Read full review
This thing is CRAP! Would not trigger alert until beside radar signs,(if at all) cops had no effect and the stupid "Speed Trap" was blaring for 50 miles cause some jag off had marked every turn-off as someplace a cop might sit. That would've been great if it warned ahead of time, but I was next to, or past the spot where the cop would be before this P.O.S. went off! - This is nothing more than noise and a distraction. Don't waste your money. I used for one 500 trip I do regularly and the second I got home, I bought a Escort which is light years ahead of cobra on radar detection. Avoid this one though.
The item was as described, it works well. I love it!

this radar is amazing.for the money you will get so much features. ok..you need a i phone, but that is what they said in the add,and in bleutooth mode it is using the battery fast....but again that has nothing to do with this i radar. overall this radar is a must for guys with a heavy right foot.i (owner of a toyota mrs turbo)am very happy with this product
