This thing is perfect for the 8s Xmaxx
2 weeks after getting the new 8s Xmaxx the esc went bad and stopped working. So I took a chance and got the max6 esc, and very happy I did. #1 it's smoother with all that power. #2 it's programmable you can set the reverse speed so it's not so fast like the stock esc, you can also adjust the breaking power from soft to harder, and there is other stuff you can adjust. #3 it make the truck a little faster over the stock esc.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Hobbywing EZRun MAX6 V3
If you're looking for a replacement ESC for your Traxxas X-Maxx. Look no further, the Hobbywing EZRun MAX6 V3 (160A, 3-8S) is a REALLY nice replacement. The X-Maxx seems to be more responsive and have better speeds. Do note you will need to replace your receiver or you "Will Not" get Full power from the MAX6 V3 due to Traxxas receiver and temp sensor set up. I'm using the Spectrum Receiver SR415, it works really well with the MAX6 V3 ESC. Highly Recommend and would buy again.

Super nice ESC a huge improvement over the Traxxas stock ESC that I replaced in my 6s X Maxx lots of programmable features that I really like the only downside is is does not do the high temperature cutoff for the motor that will not work with this ESC on xmaxx for some reason it's default setting is off and you cannot change it so you do have to monitor your temps I'm using gigantic 9000mah batteries with it 3s it handles 8s and I can full blast in my x max the entire battery and it barely even gets warm it's so much smoother and faster with this ESC doesn't like to kick into reverse it seems like it's probably my transmitter or my radio it seems like the reverse you got to hit it a couple times before it kicks in but that's probably nothing to do with the ESC just something I noticed great product would highly recommend it will be using it in other vehicles like I said it's up to 8 s and it's super powerfulVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Whhooaa nelly
After I purchased and drove my second X-Maxx v2 i was sorely disappointed with the electronics. I can understand the v1 being a little turdish with it being Traxxas’s first 1/5. First off, I’m sad that the steering servo didn’t make the “upgrade list”, then on top of that Traxxas put another non-worthy esc in this behemoth!! When I first pulled back the throttle I almost fell over...again. At that point i knew what had to be done. I put the max5 in the v1 and it’s a little to much so i opted for the max6 with the v2. After installing the m6 i was in heaven. Now this is a beast. This is how this truck is supposed to be. U can be doing forty and still pull it up on the rear wheels and the programmability of the max6 will allow u to tune ur truck how ever u want it. If u are not happy with ur X-Maxx’s power all u need to do is, literally, just drop the max6 in and u will be saying whoa nelly!!!!!

The cure for your Traxxas esc
