Excellent!!! Incredible unrehearsed recordings of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash in one place at the same time just goofing off with a little jam session. It contains some memorable studio banter between the guys with Elvis explaining how another musician in a club was performing "Don't Be Cruel" and then proceeds to play and sing a little sample of how that one particular artist was playing it. There is also that amazing song "Paralyzed" that everyone joins in and plays along with Elvis singing and having a good time. There is also quite a few number of songs you will not hear anywhere else than on this Complete Million Dollar Quartet Cd. This is definitely one to add to your Elvis collection. The sound quality is also great and you can really hear the excitement in young Elvis' voice when speaking to others.Read full review

As one might understand with an improvised recording session that the participants may not have known about, the recording quality leaves a lot to be desired. But the content is very interesting to anyone who wants to know about the roots of this kind of popular music. And that is what is important about this CD.

Always heard about this collaboration and I saw the musical in Chicago. Considering this is the only time Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis were ever recorded together and it happened at the beginning of their careers makes this CD a piece of Rock n' Roll history. Sound quality is not great, but the players are and would definitely recommend it to anybody who appreciates this type of music,
If you're an Elvis fan, you'll love this disc. Although it starts a little weak with Christmas song noodling, it does get more interesting. Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee show some good chops but I really had to struggle to pick out any Johnny Cash. Elvis dominates with his singular vocal style but Perkins adds some nice harmonies and second vocal parts. Overall, it's definitely worth a listen if not just for the historical moment.
Must have originally came with 2 cd's..according to back of cd case anyways..a lot of music missing..i'd say the first half..for example there is no Christmas songs on first part of cd I received
