About this product

Product Information

Inspired by real events, Munich reveals the intense story of the secret Israeli squad assigned to track down and assassinate the 11 Palestinians believed to have planned the 1972 Munich massacre of 11 Israeli athletes - and the personal toll this mission of revenge takes on the team and the man who led it. Hailed as "tremendously exciting" (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone), Steven Spielbergs explosive suspense thriller garnered five Academy Award nominations,* including Best Picture and Best Director.

  • Politics by Numbers

I was disappointed by Munich, although Eric Bana gives everything he has to the part of an Israeli terrorist. The violence is of a perfunctory nature, as if director Spielberg doesn't care much for the ideology that pushes desperate people to the brink of despair. There are also two scenes of a sexual nature that are totally inappropriate and minimise the quality of the film that had me squirming in my seat in embarrassment, something that Spielberg is not known to do. Oh well, it's back to the kiddie movies again.
