  • Cute idea but lazy execution

The idea of a Manga figure based on the 60's TV era Japanese take of the Batman strip is an enticing one for fans. Just when you think you know EVERYTHING, something pops up that you never heard of. My problem is that the figure is a repaint of one of McFarland's previous Batmen. I do like this sculpt very much, but its only distinction is a costume in grey tones. Packaging shows a very 60's looking Batman with short ears and moderate musculature, but the repaint figure is hulkingly bulky with long ears. I get the current pitch that just slapping different paint on a an already produced figure is some kind of "Cool kitsch", but I really resent spending money on just a repaint.
