About this product

Product Information

If you are looking for a digital camera that has just about every feature you need from still frame photography to high-resolution video, the Panasonic Lumix DMC LX100 12.8 MP digital camera is for you. This mirrorless camera is a premium compact digital product that is part of a high-quality series from the manufacturer. For many photographers, the fast lenses and ISO range are what first draws them to the camera. However, this excellent and versatile camera has many features that will make photographers of all skill levels fall in love with what it can do. The Panasonic Lumix LX100 has a micro four-thirds sensor, which is twice the area of a 1-inch sensor and five times larger than the 1/1.7-inch sensor that came standard on other models. This camera makes full use of the sensor to allow multi-aspect shooting in any mode that you choose. The lens offers a maximum aperture range of f1.7 to f2.8 and a great focal range, which provides for enhanced shallow depth-of-field and exceptional low-light shooting to make the most of any photo shoot. Additional features include time-lapse, A/S/M mode, 4K video, and a 4K photo mode that lets you control aspect ratio. As a bonus, you can also stop shuttering by enabling silent shooting for the appropriate environments. This dependable product produces excellent image quality so that you can truly make your artwork look professional. Since this item gives you the ability to shift from 24 mm to 75 ƒmm viewing angles, there are few things you can’t capture with the lens from near to far. The Panasonic Lumix LX100 has an LCD screen and electronic viewfinder to allow you to maintain complete control and maneuver to whatever settings you desire for each shot. It is a compact camera that enables you to zoom in toward your subject and use flash where needed for great images in any type of lighting environment. You can enhance your shots with the micro four-thirds aspect ratio that lets you adjust the shutter speed and ISO to meet your needs. The mirrorless lens and digital level gauge allow for sharp focus, including a control ring to hone in on your subject and get the most of your photography wherever you go. The Panasonic LX100 is one of the digital cameras that is capable of taking stop motion animation to capture the moment, recording high-quality video and burst shooting, or filming the ever-popular time lapse shot. With these features, you can easily turn your memories into a piece of art that you will cherish. This Panasonic LX100 offers in-camera RAW conversion, so you can take your photos in the versatile RAW format and then convert them to smaller file sizes like JPEG for easy sharing. It also has Wi-Fi capabilities so that you can transfer pictures to your computer or send them to friends without having to mess with wires or wait until you’re home to access a computer. The DMC-LX100 allows you to adjust the size of your shots from 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, and 1:1 ratios.

  • Nice and Small

A fantastic camera, packed to the brim with cool features and things like 4K video and different aspect ratios. If you are looking for a small, light camera that does not compromise on image quality, this is it. There are a couple of things to consider though, firstly, it's by no means an easy camera to use, in terms of all the different settings and things you can do with it, so you will want to read the manual thoroughly to learn all the functions of this little beast. A little less positive is the sensor. At 12mp max, it does start to feel dated, you cannot zoom pictures too much, or crop to re-frame so it forces you to actually be careful in that regard. Te EVF is where it really lets down; it's good when its' too sunny and you really want to use it, but you'll find yourself using the screen more often than not due to the horrible colour rendition of the EVF. Overall it's a fantastic camera with a few rough edges, but to be honest I have a nikon D800 and I use this lumix more often than the Nikon due to its compactness.

  • Great streetshooter & everyday camera to have with you

This is a great, real photographers camera. If you are wanting complete pocketability or such this isn't the camera for you. It's got a great lens on it, performs really well in low light and is just a great walking around / street shooting camera. I usually have it with me for grab shots or will take it alone for a day of shooting. It has a completely silent mode which is wonderful, shoots RAW. If you like flash and use one often this may not be your camera. The flash is not built, though it works well when you need it. Controls are old school and while it's no Leica M it has a nice, quiet rangefinder feel to it. It's a thoughtful shooting camera.

  • Excellent camera with MANY features.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC LX100 camera is a very high-quality, versatile camera for the experienced digital camera user, not the amateur. It is a bit larger and heavier than others of its type, but the images and versatility of this camera makes hauling it around with you worth the effort. Their customer support desk could/would not give me the lens front thread size for some reason but I got it off of an Internet video on the camera. I wanted to order a wide-angle lens hood which was recommended for the camera and finally did get one off of E-Bay. The battery life seems just fine too. But I would recommend it to serious, experienced digital camera users only.

  • Small camera, Pro results!

First off, like all compacts, there are trade offs made, but this is like a mini camera system! Pros: *Complete manual ability. Not for novice unless they want to learn photography (exposure) *4K video, and 4K photo mode *A viewfinder, EVF, for when sun is harsh *A huge sensor for such a small camera *Fast sharpLeica lens for creamy Bokeh *small enough to be discreet and travel well yet solid and well built *Multiple aspect ratios can be selected before shooting *16 mp micro 4/3rds sensor! Depending on ratio 12.8 mp used * Different creative modes * IA, Intelligent Auto button for when there is no time for setting camera *Outstanding WiFi connectivity CONS *No touch or tilt screen *Manual controls could frustrate novice users *Jpeg Quality not as good for some people *To bulky for some, small but not a pocket camera *All those dials are easy to change by accident *EVF is annoying to some people! * To some, this is to expensive. You could get a DSLR and lenses for the same money A few extra thoughts here. For a user with photography skill that wants a small package that yields professional results, this is a great camera. The Leica lens offers superb optics that take advantage of the large sensors resolution. I like the EVF, but to some it is annoying! The one thing I wish this camera had is a tilt screen, touch screen I can live without, but as much as this camera is setup as a creative tool, I just don’t see why that’s missing! That said, overall this is a great camera. A great travel camera that will yield fantastic results!

  • Perfect solution for my “lightweight walk-around” kit

Perfect size to work controls with normal size male hands (I found the Sony RX100iii just too small to manipulate). Better IQ than the 1” Sony sensor too. I shoot a Fuji XT-10 so having the LX100 exposure controls similar to to XT is an advantage. Having a hot shoe allows triggering of off camera flash. Lens is as fast as the RX. The pocketability thing is over rated, as even the RX is an unsightly bulge in a front pocket at dinner, and I prefer to have the camera out and on when on the street. Overall, an excellent solution!

  • Nice and fast camera. Poor focus.

This is amazing camera. It's small, FAST, the image quality is very good. It has a viewfinder and I use it a lot in a daytime. It also has wi-fi and manual controls, which is very convenient. Two things piss me off: 1. Crazy Panasonic menu system. It's organized very bad, it takes time to find what you need. Far less convenient than Nikon or Canon 2. Autofocus. It's very fast, but it sometimes just can't get it right. As far as I see almost 30% of my photos are blurred, it's really disturbing. Sometimes it's hard to make it focus on what you need. Say, it keeps focusing on background instead of foreground even when focus area is on the foreground object (this normally happens when your object is smaller than a focus area, say you want it to focus on face, but focus area is just slightly bigger and camera constantly tries to focus on background). Sometimes it gets focus where you need but then when you watch your photo on computer you realize it missed it. I have really big problem with landscape photography at night, I couldn't make a SINGLE properly focused picture of night city landscape. Sometimes it's some weird motion blur. Say I have 1/1000 shutter it's a landscape but photo is has motion blur, I have no understand how that's possible. Probably it's a faulty Image Stabilisation.

  • Excellent camera and great value

I came from an old school 35mm camera, so this digital one takes some getting used to and there is a learning curve. So far so good and I've had some nice results considering I'm just a beginner. I'm sure it will become easier to use as I get more experience. The camera is compact, but full of many fine features I'm just learning about. Can't wait to get more comfortable with it so I can appreciate and enjoy it to the fullest.
