The absorbent, yellow, porous protagonist and his Bikini Bottom posse become involved in the mystery surrounding King Neptune's missing crown, and they must complete a series of platform challenges to unravel it. Along the way, they stumble into unforeseen danger, but make some new friends, too. Perfect for kids, not for adults.
I bought this solely for its nostalgia value. I loved it as a kid, and I remember pouring hours into it and having a hard time completing it. It's an okay platformer, but it was definitely designed with kids in mind. All the levels are short and linear, with extra challenges thrown in which you can warp to from the menu screen once you unlock them. Even though you can easily breeze through a level to get back to challenges once you know the layout, the warping is perfect for kids who are newer to platformers and don't want to redo tricky segments. There are also no lives in this game. Once you run out of health, you will be spawned very close to where you died, which takes away almost any risk/reward for older players. But, if you're a kid with little patience and skill, this means that making progress is easier and less frustrating. Overall, this game isn't meant for more experienced players. Though it's short length and forgiving gameplay make it perfect for kids without much experience with video games.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Play it simply if you love nostalgic games that actually have good gameplay and great mechanics this is it.
I use to play this game all the time as a kid most of the SpongeBob games but as a child I was too incompetent to fully complete most games (since this is a ps2 game I was roughly 5) but recently as an adult I’ve been buying old games and it’s actually brought me a little extra joy in this world so for all you gamers just take a break from these new games that are over 100gb for a download no updates included, just go back and play the old games you have to realize they’re not just old games they’re becoming relics a symbol of our childhoods play these games from your childhood collect them save them because one day they’ll be worth thousands but in my heart they’ll forever be priceless.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
