Bought for use as a standby generator to keep house essential loads running in a semi rural area subject to frequent power failures. The house has a 3 phase mains power connection but all the loads are single phase allowing use of this cheap, lightweight single phase generator. Worked straight out the box after filling the oil and petrol tanks. Has started first or second time in the subsequent month I have used the generator. The voltage and frequency regulation are very good, only briefly varying if there is a large step load increase or decrease. I just hope that this cheap generator proves reliable in longer term operation. The generator noise was higher than I had hoped. The noise when running at significant load is quite noticeable even at 50-100m away so I will not run the generator overnight at home and not use it at a shared camp site out of consideration of other people in the area. Overall, the generator fits my needs well and is very good value for the purchase price.Read full review

Sadly it was delivered UPSIDE DOWN although the box had all the correct labelling as to what was the top. Fluid leaked out before it was removed from the box so I knew I had a bit of work to do before I should attempt to start it. Being mechanical I got it going after a bit of sweat and tinkering. It worked fine then. The tool kit was a handy bonus. Took it on first away trip in my Motorhome. Started up fine. Worked the caravan A/C ok but didnt handle the Micro and fridge being on as well. No probs. Works the A/C load and fridge ok. Its weighs nearly 30kgs so I got a fold up trolley for it. I believe it is the best priced unit. Worth taking a chance on especially when the costs for hiring one are about $30 to 50 per day.

It was at the right price for me. It is quiet and powers my portable lights, pressure washer and buffer if needed.. it also keeps my battery chargers powered up. Great for when there is no access to a PowerPoint.

Delivery good, price good, tidy unit, easy to store ...(maybe a future hassle with plastic choke lever) not an expert but it has been excellent so far ...bought for bush trips in small caravan . Runs power tools well. No complaints.

Have just returned from my first camping trip, runs everything in the caravan, air con, microwave, hot water system etc. When not on full load is nice & quiet, (around 58 dba) but is a bit loud when working hard, (79 dba @ 7 metres). Also it's a bit on the heavy side at approx 30 kg's so bear this in mind. As for the price, I figure if I get 10 free camps out of it then it's paid for itself. Would I buy another?, ask me in a years time.
