Well built air filter, will stop sand, dust and other debris from entering the engine. In order to fit the filter into your airbox, an aluminum plate has to be installed and 2 holes have to be drilled through. It must be done right, otherwise your aluminum plate will have a slight bent and it will have to be sealed between the airbox and the aluminum plate. It has a Oring to prevent the debris from entering, but you might have to use glue or something else to seal it properly if the holes you drill are not aligned. Overall, it is a high quality item. Don't go with a K&N if you ride in the trails, sandpits or dunes. Use this wonderful filter and your engine top ends will last a lot longer.
It’s a great air filter. Only complaint I have about it is it’s hard to put on because the metal lathe sleeve inside the filter likes to slide around and it pushed the rubber ring off of the adapter while tightening it
