Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Audio/MIDI-Interfaces
Yes, there are better audio/midi interfaces, but they are all a lot more expensive. I have owned several audio/midi interfaces over the years, both high and low end, and this one packs the most features and quality you could ask for at a budget price. As a singer, voice and piano teacher, and music director, I make use of it daily and it does the job. I previously had an 8 input interface that could be expanded up to 16, but rarely ever went over 4, so this fits the bill for me. With its inputs, varied outputs, midi, and other capabilities, it's a very nice value.

This is a really great interface. It has excellent preamps, a large threshold and s/n ratio, and is super easy to use. I use it with 3 different music recording programs and it works flawlessly with all 3. I only wish the Phantom power was channel selectable. It is powered from the USB cable so no extra adapter needed and has all the functions you would want in a 4 channel interface.

I had a first gen Focusrite 6i6 that was underwhelming with its sound and a bizarre application that you had to use with your DAW that unclear both with it's manual and labeling. 6i6 made recording a real chore. The Behringer UMC404HD is a dream come true. You load the driver on your computer, plug the UMC404 in, fire up your DAW, and it just works seamlessly & intuitively. The mic preamps sound better than the Focusrite in terms of less noise floor, EMI issues, and just sheer transparency. Latency is really low. The headphone amp is powerful enough for tracking. MIDI interface worked well too. The only cons on this are: no SPDIF, no AES/EBU, and Phantom power is either active on all 4 inputs or off on all 4 inputs, so no mixing and matching condenser & ribbon mics in the same interface. But considering the low cost of this interface, I would just get a SPDIF or AES EBU box for digital transfers or another UMC404 if I needed to mix & match phantom power inputs. Don't hesitate if you are on a low budget, just buy it!!!! Read full review

This is a great 4 input USB audio interface. I got it so I can transfer my old 4-track cassette tape mixes to digital. I'm using the Reaper DAW for this task and it's been a very easy time being able to hit Play and record all 4 tracks in perfect sync to a digital format. I have not yet tried my XLR cabled microphone via this unit's phantom power, etc. but I'm confident the sound quality will be as good as it can get due to this unit's professional sampling rate and capabilities.

A combination of desperation and hope led me to the UMC404HD. This interface is rock solid. The pre amps are warm, the latency is a non-issue, and on my system (Windows 7 i5) the results have been excellent. If, as I have, you have battled with other interfaces that made recording more of a pain than it's worth. Try this device. It just plain works. My only wish is that the phantom power could be selected per channel rather than all on or all off. Removing the technical barrier has made recording fun again at a very reasonable price point.
