Good film. More about the development of the James Gordon character than Batman/Bruce Wayne. It felt like Batman was a side story. The main focus was James Gordon standing against corruption.

excellently delivered "from this moment on none of THEM are safe" it truly converts the best selling origin beginning story of batman into animation with boasting bluray quality and being a bat-fan myself i find it much appealing than any other animated movie out there excluding batman starrers every character may it be gordon or selina kyle each of them are given detailed year one story they deserve no one is left behind the dc animated short is not so impressive though the most nicely done animated short was JONAH HEX in 1st and SUPERMAN/SHAZAM! in 2nd fifteen mins. and its done as usual but not much charm although nice sexuality inside and im not saying sexual content and since i got the figure edition of best buy i got a very good bargain 32$ with shipping and its now not less than 38$ w/o shipping so hurrah for such a nice opportunity which i availedRead full review
It looks like DC Comics has done it again. While Marvel Entertainment has often struggled producing animation movies, DC Comics seems to have the formula down. Batman: Year One is the origin on how Bruce Wayne became Batman. The movie not only focuses on the origin story of Batman, it also includes appearances from James Gordon, Harvey Dent (the soon to be Two-Face), and Selina Kyle (the lovely Catwoman). The voice talent is this movie is unbelievable as well. The movie includes Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as Jim Gordon, Ben McKenzie (Gotham) as Bruce Wayne, and Eliza Dushku (Bring it On) as Selina Kyle. I enjoyed how the story line actually follows what the title suggests. Batman: Year One focuses on the first year Bruce Wayne becomes the Batman. It shows how the city of Gotham is so corrupted that even the police are on the criminal payroll. Enter James Gordon, who tries to stop to corrupted but gets shown that the city isn’t ready yet, and will need something else. Then enter the Batman, the hero that Gotham deserves. Sorry I had to steal the tag line from The Dark Knight. However, if you liked The Dark Knight, then you would love Batman: Year One. MGentertainment15 Read full review
