No backplate provided
This product is fine, BUT there is no backplate provided which would greatly reduce strength if mounted to the carbon fiber hood with only 6 small contact points. With a backplate like the AeroCatch 120-2100 Flush Plus Black Hood Pin Latch Set provides I would give this product a 5 across the board, but as it stands I can't even put it on my car until I find backplates somewhere or just buy another set that has them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

a bit of an improvement but not worth it if they fail the same way. Time will tell. The sad thing is once you cut your holes in the hood you are stuck
I was led to believe it would be stronger than my previous plastic set which wound up breaking when the complex pivot motions become disfunctional in time and cease to operate. Latch is 90% plastic, hinge broke within a week
Both are difficult to open, the pin on one one of hinges backed out and prevented the hood from latching and took like an hour to fix. If you don't install it perfect it's going to bind and break. Hold my hood closed at least, even if I can't open it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
