First of all, don't believe in other reviews that say this board is not for overclockers. I read those reviews and still risked and bought the item, but I was not disappointed at all. This board let me overclock my FX-6300 at 4GHz with just 1.3 volts. I just didn't go any further because my cooler isn't that "cool", but I'm pretty sure I could go even beyond 4GHz if I had a better cooling solution. That being said, there are two main problems that this board has. First of all, the northbridge (chipset) keeps getting pretty hot. You can even feel the high temperature just by touching the heatsink. But there are many little tiny heatsinks with fans on sale out there and you can easily cool the northbridge down (I bought one for a couple of dollars too and currently I'm waiting for it to arrive). And the second problem is the fact that there is no header on motherboard for the front panel USB 3 ports. That issue can be solved either by using Front USB3 to USB2 convertor (causing speed drops) or by routing front panel connectors to the rear USB3 ports with some adapters and USB3 cables (using front ports as kind of extensions of the rear ports). Anyway, those are the only issues the board has. Other than that, the item is great and performs pretty well too. Yes, there are tons of motherboards, that will outperform this one in many ways, but considering the performace you're getting for the price, this is an awesome board. The possibility of having two graphics cards is a great advantage of the board over all the other boards of same price range. And also, having the 9xx series chipset is awesome as well, while some AM3+ boards of same price range have 7xx chipsets. Overall 4/5 points to the board, just because of those two issues stated above. I would've given it 5/5 if not those things.Read full review

I got mine at a nice to me price and I am also very happy with it. I have used amd cpu's for a very long time since the 486 dx days in 1994. For whatever reason I have lost a few motherboards in the last few years including the one I used this to replace. Typically I keep a current system for gaming and the use spare parts to build a back up. For this build I had a 8 core cpu and a 4 core waiting around plus lots of spare of everything else. Nice when it works out this way. This board went together nicely worked on boot up first try and has been running nicely every since. Most people will find the Bios very old school. (fine with me I am old school), Otherwise it's been a very good motherboard . Like someone else pointed out the only real fault I found on this was no 3.0 pin outs for the front usb 3.0 to plug into. As much as like front usb 3.0 it's not a huge problem most of the time and sometimes a laugh when I am waiting then remember Duh!!! switch to usb 2.0 port and take off. I got this one brand new with free shipping for only $10.00 more then a used one a few weeks before. Worth it for that reason alone the fact is just works is even better.Read full review

This motherboard performs excellently, fast, works very well with the older Phenom II cpu's(better than with the FX series in my opinion). The nice aspect of this board is the bios that feels "old school" which I love about it. When it comes to installation(as another reviewer stated), the little transistor near the ram slots is what you must be careful of, so use a screw with a fat plastic washer, modify a screw to make its head as small as possible and use a plastic washer(which is what I have done), use plastic screw or leave that screw hole empty. The reason why 4/5 is because of the transistor problem I have stated above, if not for that I would have given this board 5/5.

I bought this board with trepidation seeing all the negative reviews on Biostar. It performed as expected over every feature. Seems to be loaded with over clocking features though I don't use them. The board has performed flawlessly. I have been running it now for over a month so I don't know about long term service. It started up first time. It works with both with windows 7 & 10 and with Linux mint. Much faster with Mint. No complaints. My only let down is it doesn't come with many auxiliary programs and some don't work with windows 10. But it has a problem nobody has mentioned: The screw hole on the outside of the RAMS is to close to a transistor and if you aren't careful it can short to ground and trash the board processor and RAM. My recommendation is put a plastic screw there, no screw, or use a plastic washer. Note: Like the board and am buying another one but it was this engineering boggle that caused this boards death.Read full review
