Ordered to eliminate one of the coffee units and free up counter space in RV. This rig allows you to choose between K-cups, single use fill from your coffee can, or normal full 12 cup brewing, just as advertised! Love the auto-shutoff feature also. Only negative is that it seems to rip open a large hole in bottom outside rim of K-cup and often this results in grounds in the cup !

I have been using my new coffee maker for 2 weeks now and find that the K-cup portion will not take all the name brands of coffee . The water does not flow through properly so that it leaks all over the machine and on to the counter. Some unknown brands seem to work better ... I like the other features, but wish the k-cup function was designed better. Family members have seen it and were looking to purchase one also, but have decided not to take the chance on theirs doing the same thing :( It's too bad ~~

The unit itself is exactly what I was looking for. The quality in materials is very very sub-par. I bought this as a refurb, hoping all the shortcoming were addressed but NO. I suspect this was a return product due to the infamous horrible plastic odor with many of these units (read any reviews). IT appears to have just boxed up and sent out to some other unsuspecting consumer (me). Yeck - it had a terrible oily/plastic/machine type of smell that would not brew out, even with using vinegar and other cleaners. Horrible quality control Hamilton Beach! Just terrible.

This is just an "okay-not-great" coffee maker. First, that nifty stainless mug you see in the photo? You don't get one. Not included. Second, to make single-serving coffee, that wouldn't work anyway, as the K-cups say they are for 8 oz. cups and beyond that the coffee gets really wimpy. Third, if you are going to use ground coffee rather than the K-cup, there's still a limit as to how much you can get into the little basket without clogging it up. And the basket is hard to clean. Good points? It brews quickly, using the carafe side is easy and the coffee is good. There is a timer, an automatic shut off, and you can take the carafe off the hotplate to pour a cup mid-brew. This was going to be our primo coffee maker; now it's going into storage as a spare. Meh.

The deal was great however, the K-Cup side doesn't punch through the bottom of the K-Cup, more like the side and all the grounds wind up in the cup. Yes, I followed directions to the letter. I wound up buying Melitta Pods.. Coffee in a tea bag type package. They work well but if you want a stronger cup, you need two pods. Since when is a cup 6 ounces versus 8 ounces... I have always hated that description of "cup of coffee" A cup is 8 ounces not 6... this is a universal manufacturing faux pas. Other than that, it's a good machine
