If your a guy that is into Sim Racing, buy this wheel. Trust me, if you got an old G27 steering wheel and want to upgrade or feel it's not as good as it once was, then don't hesitate on buying one of these puppies! While yes the price of them is rediculous, it's all worth the money you dump into them. I really wish Thrustmaster would add the Shifter along with the buy as well since it doesn't need to be seperated but I do see their reason now for it. It basically works good even without the shifter and the add-ons you can buy for it. While I have only used it on GT6, I can try it on Rfactor sometime to see what the huge difference is on it. Right now I'm loving it, I'm getting a lot faster with this than the G27 actually and I thought it was just me when it was hardware slowing me down. Using this wheel is like using the G27, very easy to setup and it doesn't take up a lot of space (That is if you live in a very small room then it does take up a bit of room for it to mount and use for the pedals) and doesn't weight to much either. (OK, it does weight a lot but seriously it's not that heavy, even a child can lift this thing) The Force Feedback is spot on perfect and very powerful on your arms, if your not used to wheels I wouldn't recommend this for first timers, I would rather you buy a G27 first before getting this huge upgrade. Have I had any problems with it? One once so far, and it was a sync problem. For some reason it quite working right when I took a turn and malfunctioned until the game and console was shut off, then it worked fine after that. I wonder if that's either a coding issue or the Wheel itself had an error to the game. Overall, I'm happy with the product. Well worth the money and it makes me wonder how long it'll take before I need to upgrade again but without paying a fortune for a new one. Believe me, this sucker might be good now but I feel someone down the road will build one even better than this powerhouse of a weapon.Read full review
After playing with a partially crippled t300 for a while I knew I wanted a good wheel and after finding out that the t500 did not use the same trashy little brushless DC motor as the t300 I set out to get one, and finally landed a used servo/wheel only set for 200$, a good deal at the time even for used units. Since then I've been burning up the tracks(just an average player really) on GT6 seasonal events(Pr0metheus) and having a blast with it. It is a very strong wheel with a fairly heavy feel. Turing on the power steering option helps with the fine detail and a test drive in a honda civic proved to feel very much like the real one I drive daily. After nearly removing skin from my hands a few times to prove it would hold up to strong feedback, I turned it down quite a bit to keep the house from coming apart around it. It really is strong and simulates the feel of under damped racing sleds nicely. On the nearly rally level rough Sarthe track in a C class racer results in a serious workout even at reduced settings, which isgreat for diagnosing the weird handling cars, If it's bouncing it's not sticking.(hint: turn the rear camber down to something reasonable) I think the key component is that it hasn't self destructed in the time I've had it, unlike the very broken brushless system in the T300 that won't keep it;s 3 phase timing structure between boots.. Be ready to build a frame though, this won't play well on the coffee table.Read full review

With the price being substantially high, there's the situation of having to buy separate add one just to complete a whole driving setup. Now add that to the issue of the bases clamping system, not the greatest and it should be!!!! The wheel is actually super nice that offers very precision, and professional experience for the high end racers that doesn't even start to compare to the G27 (I've owned them all)! In my opinion, if your serious about driving/racing on a PC and can afford it....its the one to own! My only real gripe is the base clamp system.....it needed more attention!!!!!!

The force feedback is awesome, steering is precise but the fixed paddle shifters take a little getting used to.
