    Nice and crystal

This is a great lens. The image is stunning. It's sharp and crisp with great detail. I use with a Panasonic GH4. The zoom ring could be a tad smoother ( I use it with a follow focus and camera rig) however, far from a deal breaker. High quality lens that I got for a nice price. The 14-140 mm focal range, alleviates the need for anything but specialty lenses.

Be sure to know which lens you are buying

The lens I purchased was not the latest but the original lens developed by Panasonic. The construction is excellent though the lens weighs almost two pounds. Also in the original design, the lens image is noticeably soft. So please be sure to verify whether you are getting the original design or the newer design which has sharper performance, faster focusing, and weighs significantly less (one half the original) although the newer lens polycarbonate in its material design. One other disadvantage I experienced was that the older design seemed to require more battery power for its autofocusing. Hope this helps. And of course you may have a different experience with the older lens versus the newer design.

  • Great all-purpose lens. If you could only have one lens pick this one.

This is a very versatile lens with its 10X zoom. It’s quite sharp at all focal lengths and the Mega OIS is helpful. It’s also small and light. Not having a large, constant aperture it’s not a great low-light lens, but it’s still a great lens for travel where most of your shooting will probably be in good light anyway. Pair it with the 20mm f1.7 and/or 14mm f2.5 and you’ve got all your bases covered without spending a fortune. I don’t think there are many super zooms for larger formats that are as good.

  • Good, all around zoom

An excellent, all around zoom. If low light focusing is an issue, switch to manual focus and turn "peaking" as a focusing assist, to "on." Notice the sharpness on the long exposure picture. Exposure was for 6 seconds, f 5.6, 400 iso, zoom was 46mm.

  • Great All Around Lens and it keeps you from Switching!!!

I have a Lumix 12-60mm it's a wonderfully sharp lens. So, I thought the 14-140mm would be in the same class picturewise and size wise. It is. The main reason I purchased the 14-140mm was after a trip to Yellowstone. I found myself constantly switching from my 12-60mm to my 40-150mm going from a landscape shot to a wildlife shot. It got pretty annoying. In fact, after one switch I noticed a "small darkish donut" image on the lower left of my photos (after I took some 40 shots of course).. I knew right away it was dust on the sensor from all the switching of lenses. It was then and there I purchased the 14-140mm. So now I have the 14-140mm and just keep it on my Lumix G-85 and I love it. You lose a little at the wide and tight ends, but the convenience of keeping one lens on the camera is worth it.

  • Light nature lens

The purpose I have in purchasing Micro four thirds equipment is the light weight and compact size for nature hikes and backpacking. This new version of the panasonic 14-140 is a gem. I use it on my older Lumix DMC-GF2 and newer GX7. I also have an Olympus 100-300mm which is nice, but long, and heavy for lightweight hiking. This lens is still adequate when pushing it's limits with 2x and 4x digital zoom when distant wildlife are observed and photograghed.

  • The lens has good antishake, small for its focal lenth range and quick/silent to focus. As a walk around lens,

  • Great lens !!!

Very good corner to corner sharpness and detail at all focal lengths in my copy of this lens. Nice compact size for a 28-280 equivalent lens. A truly great all round lens!!!

  • Awesome lens

This is perhaps the best lens I have used. I find it extremely flexible in it's range and has nice DOF capability. Focus is quick and accurate. The 3rd picture that I took with it is a keeper and perhaps saleable. I use it with a DMC GH4 and find the detail excellent. Sharpness is perfect. No problems whatsoever. I had the previous version, f4-5.8 and find this is a nice step up. Better overall performance, more compact and better detail. Macro capability is outstanding.

  • Wanted this to be great, so badly

Ive been shooting on two lenses primarily, a G X Vario 12-35 and a G Vario 45-150. I figured a 14-140 would replace both and I’d only carry one lens with me on trips. Technically it could have done that, but the lens was just too soft for my liking. I’m a bit of a picky focus-er and noticed that me edges were too soft too my liking. For some this may be the perfect solution for them, but I’ve since ordered the Leica 12-60 and I’m keeping my 45-150 (which is sometimes a kit lens) bc it’s just that much sharper.
