Speedy & Tiny
I had George from airmatecom to replace my hp laplet 500gb hybrid hdd, for this tiny msata card. The reason I went with the SSD, was due to the heat from the hybrid drive. T5 is not *exactly* an 850 Evo...
So the SSDs from the T5 Portable are certainly the same physically as the 850 EVO. They behave the same in terms of read sped and write speed, they have the same capacity (I was able to add two to an existing RAID array). They are - for the most part - the same thing. Except when they're not. There is a subtle difference, in that the T5 Portable drives have a different firmware. Samsung Magician won't update them, or otherwise support them. Now that's not really a big issue for me in my use case - as mentioned, they're part of a RAID array, and after adding them to the array, I can't remove them to update the firmware. And I'm not going to use the "make it even faster" features of Samsung Magician (basically a 'better' cache) BUT if you're a Samsung SSD Fan who is accustomed to using Samsung's tooling, this could be a disappointment.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy SSD upgrade for a Samsung Series 9!
Bought this to replace a 128GB SSD that came with my Samsung Series 9 ultrabook...swapping out the hard drive was VERY simple...Trick was to ALSO purchase a USB adapter so this new SSD could be accessed by the Samsung hard drive ghosting software that you can download for free from Samsung. With both hard drives available (old one still in the computer and THIS new 500GB one in the USB adapter) you ran the Samsung ghosting software and then 8 or so screws on the bottom of the computer and you pretty much had access to the hard drive to pop out the old one and pop in the new one.
