because of the cost, I expected a more inferior product. But I was surprised to find it quite sturdy and not a bad looking model for the front of my computer. It looks good and does all types of cd and dvd's. Burns whatever you throw at it, (except Blu- ray).

It appears to be pretty cheaply built, but I didn't expect a top of the line unit when I ordered it.. Flimsy plastic sound when cycling the tray, and the SATA power and data plug-in sockets probably would not last through too many removal and installs (appears to be just soldered to the circuit board with no reinforcement by the frame). It wrote the CD and two DVDs (one of which was a re-writable) I have done so far with no problems.

The sata power connection is cheap and takes a decent amount of force to plug into. The same amount of force that made it break. Cant hate for the price...get what you pay for. Inexpensive models are risky.

Works great! As close to perfect as you can get. It's so quiet I never hear it make a sound. Exact replacement for my defective OEM drive so I didn't even have to update drivers.

Drawer opens then immediately shuts, try again it will do the same thing. Nest time it may pop out but just barely enough to squeeze a disk in or out. Reads ok but is kind of annoying.
