there are still a lot of good actual K-bars out there. The last new one I bought was in the 90's, but I still see them regularly here on ebay. Sure they cost more and may need a little love to bring back to A-1 condition, but if you actually need a knife it's a small price to pay. If you want one for the name and something to put in your display collection (nothing wrong with that of course) then you should definitely get these newer knives like this one here to keep the real one's out of collectors hands and in those who need and use them

I own several Ka-Bar's and this one is very nice. The knife and sheath are well made; and I like the silver blade. Reminds me of my uncle's Ka-Bar from WWII South Pacific. Wish Ka-Bar would construct their knives like that again. But, in the meantime, this is a very fine knife.

Well, it is shiny and well made but don't depend on it for any real use, blade is too thin and too light, tang stamp is an ink print typical import. Not what I expect from Kabar.
