I am a photographer, videographer, and general image geek. I beleive that you don't have to spend a lot of money on gear to get great results. This camera is proof to that. Yes the ergonomics are funky, but by cupping the camera with the phone attached it is not terrible. The images I have been able to get with this camera are great. I have mft lenses (nothing expensive) and they look great. The camera has good light sensitivity so it is usable in lower light settings but a remote flash is helpful. Video is not bad, but even with image stabilized lenses it has some shake and some shutter roll. But it is usable (I mean, your not going to shot a major motion picture on this thing). Batter life is not great but not terrible. I carry a 10000mah battery and that solves the problem. Although the camera gets a little hot when charging and shotting video. The app is useful, although could be better. Has some manual features but could have more. Quirks: ergonomics. Sometimes the data connection with the phone gets lost, used both in camera memory and on phone memory to save pictures and internal camera memory is faster and better. This is a naked pen-el8... has most if not all of the same features and image quality. I recommend this camera for the casual photog, as an interesting gadget that actually takes pretty good pics if you know how to use the sensor.Read full review

This is a great new direction to go in for Olympus. I wouldn't buy this unless you already have some compatible lenses (micro four-thirds) and of course a smartphone. Then it serves as a useful second camera or as one that you just pop into your bag for everyday (but high-quality) shots. It does take a while for the phone to connect to the camera and it will not automatically switch over between wifi networks, which can be annoying (but I understand this is not something that Olympus can do anything about). Quality of shots is the same as other micro four-thirds cameras (and depends on the lens). The interface on the smartphone is easier to use than the one on my PEN. Hopefully Olympus will continue to develop it.

Attach any micro 4/3rds lens, and I have dozens, and couple it with a cellphone (the larger modern ones won't fit - I use an old iPhone 5!) and you have a fun, full featured camera. Don’t except to take action shots or low light ones but the ones you get in usual lighting conditions are much better than even the best phone camera.

Incredible quality of photos from the phone. Lots of possibilities. Its not perfect and can be improved. Like id like to be able to set custom white balance, easy access to sd card, let it have internal memory and replaceable battery.

Nice sensor! It gives excellent picture quality! Its light weight and small camera body make it very convenient to carry around. I can also take advantage of other M4/3 lens! The major drawback is it takes around 6-10 secs to connect every time before use. And the connection is unstable occasionally.

I now understand why nobody bought this and Olympus discontinued it. Since I have many Olympus lenses, I thought the Air might be handy. In fact though, it’s so fiddly to use with z cell phone that I would rather use the phone camera or carry a real camera.
